How is that, I thought E: D is the first game in the franchise that implements multiplayer? It's funny how many people come and talk about how much they like the look of ED and then demand that it be changed to something which fundamentally isn't ED. Try EvE Online.
And yes, I tried EVE online. Dunno why you all hate it. I considered it a fine game, but it's soooo old now. And the subscription fees eat up my wallet alive.
I disliked it because it had all of the features you want and required a subscription to keep it going.
Lets hope the devs ignore the group that wanted Eve2 and stick to the Elite reboot they advertised.

How can you tell social features are "not Elite" if multiplayer wasn't even possible in the original Elite?
How can you tell if the devs aren't going to implement it next month? It is widely requested.

Well, this is an MMO. Can you tell me straight out of your head any MMO title that wouldn't allow creating guilds? Because I can't. So I thought it's likely it will eventualy get implemented. Much more likely than implementing Velociraptors to a steampunk game... Especially since I'm not the only one requesting it.

Like seriously, you all seem to be proud that there is no social interface in this game because it's "not Elite", just because there were no social tools in the original Elite.
Look, you don't want to play in a corp? Fine, play lonewolf if you want.
Nobody makes you play in a corp.
Maybe even you could get hired as a mercenary by some organization, wouldn't that be fun?
Getting paid for doing more interresting, player-made quests? Like intercepting cargo of hostile corporations and getting highly rewarded? Or selling navigational data to a corp at a much higher price? Attacking enemy corp's space station? There are many more possibilities when it's the players who direct the flow of the game. I seriously dunno why you're all afraid of it.
Now I suddenly have the urge to go to a random MMO forum and demand features that are not part of the game.
"Hey guys this game is cool and all but why can't I play as a Velociraptor? Velociraptors are cool... you should totally be able to play one."
'ummm this is a steampunk roleplaying game, I dunno how Velociraptors fit into the idea behind it..."
"Well ok that's fine and dandy, but if you could play a Velociraptor, I would totally buy it. I dunno why they don't implement Velociraptors as a playable race... everybody loves Raptors... they are totally rad! I'd buy the game if I could play a Raptor, but without Raptors... meh... not really my thing."

Well, I was simply wondering why there seems to be such a fear of any kind of social content in an MMO game. It's something I have never experienced in any other MMO game (it IS an MMO game, anyone who states otherwise is just wrong). To me the whole point of MMO games is to interact with other players. Otherwise why even make it MMO? You could have multiple servers and smaller maps and achieve similiar effects. I seriously can't understand this.I think the basic conversation here has departed the scene.
If i understand the OP correctly, you'd like to have features in ED that are neither implemented nor planned. Continuing to discuss other games and their advantages/disadvantages here is not going to make the game into what you want therefore any continued discussion is irrelevant.
From my part, i and others here have answered your initial questions - i feel there is little to be gained from troll posting.
Buy it or don't buy it - it's up to you![]()

In the OP's defence some of the PVE crowd are pretty vile to anything non PVE. I'm starting to not like the PVE forum guys *shivers* maybe I've been in space too long.
Oh my goodness! PvE and PvP oriented players having very different preferences about what features should be in the game due to the implications of those features on their mode of play?
Corporations would be really weird in this game. Having players take control of areas of space becomes strange when I can go fly through the space they control and do whatever I want there and there is nothing they can ever, ever, ever do about it because we'll never see each other there.
I'm all for PVE and PVP I was referring to the passive aggressive PVE mob.
