Feel Three : Virtual Reality Motion Simulator

This works with ED!

I discovered this creator called Feel Three the other day on Kickstarter, and managed to convince myself to back it for an Early Bird version of their simulator. If you have several thousand pounds kicking around and a good 2.5m to place it in (it's certainly cheaper than alternatives, but of course not for everyone), then the Kickstarter offering a 45% discount on what it'll cost upon release closes on Friday.

The simulator can have controllers like an X52 and HOTAS fitted, and also for other cockpit games like cars, steering wheels and pedals.

There's a review video from Virtual Reality Oasis I've found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YKsLtvbVVE

I've wanted something like this all my life since I played a movable Outrun deluxe arcade machine back in the 1980's, but never expected anything to come in at a price that made that a reality. Considering this can work with 2D titles in VR cinema modes, personally I'm hoping that with Simtools (the software it utilizes), I can use MAME to emulate Outrun and other titles like Afterburner, and get it to move when playing.

The Simtools software has support for over 100 games, with ED being one of them. Feel Three are also working on getting native support into games.

Feel Three also have a YouTube channel with a few videos showing gameplay, as I think backers wanted to see this in action, including a couple of ED.

So for those that have already dropped a lot of cash on VR HMDs and graphics cards to run everything, here's something else... ;)

Wow, it looks really nice and the price is much less than I expected. I won't be buying one anytime soon but I really like the looks of it.

I am so pumped about Feelthree. :) Only downside is, need (want) ultra package and with a rig like this the other gear has to match. Slaw rx Viper rudder, virpil hotas, feelvr DD wheel and pedals and Pimax. :-D

Virpil has to wait though, x52 has to do for a while. Htc Vive will also do for a year until used pimax can be picked up at kickstarter prices. Did order Slaw rudder, but no payment due until shipping next year. ;-) Feelvr, indiegogo to save 33% from retail. hope they deliver. ;-) Feelthree - early bird to save 50%, and I know Mark will deliver. :)

I may have also "bought" one...
My wife will understand right?

Well.. ;-)

wife was ok with it, as long as she could spend money (mine) on a few new purses, and that I pay for her when she's going away on a girl weekend.

(I didnt tell I bought the ultra pack) ;-)

I've not bought that yet, not sure how much it will go up after the KS finishes, But they don't start building until April so I figure I've got time to save back up!? I may just grab the pedal deck, wheel deck and cable holder for now and then see how I get on with the 3 motors. I can always add those soon after if I suddenly feel the need. That also spreads out the cost!

So at least we know us two CMDRS will have them next summer. We should do some dual testing swap notes etc closer to the time!

Yeah, well I went and added the Ultra components to my order, so I'll be running 6 motors as I think investing £2.2k initially means I'm protecting that with the additional investment and hopefully less wear and tear (plus I'm a little more than 100kg weight and want to get a decent Sparco seat in there too!).

It's expensive sure, but not compared to more expensive offerings. I also think as a community grows, we can work through things and support each other hopefully! o7

As for wives understand, that is an entirely different area of discussion... ;)

My thoughts also, regarding the ultra pack.

I have a very well used sparco R100 seat, bought for £20, look like crap, but feels solid. :-D Will put my money towards virpil HOSAS, Slaw, DD wheel etc. and hopefully a pimax in a few years. ;-)

Would be cool if, when we get our platforms, we find a place to chat and share. This thread is a nice start.:)
