Fer-de-Lance ! What do we know?

The Fed corvette will be there to fulfil the big pricey combat ship. And the Vulture is the dedicated nimble heavy fighter, so it won't be a fully dedicated fighter.

It will be multirole, but combat leaning. But it will also suit explorers, give them something pretty to jaunt around the galaxy.

I'm picking a ship around in the weight range of a Cobra possibly slightly heavier. There'll be a premium price tag to align with the lore but it won't be exorbitant, something in the 5 million range. Anything more expensive becomes impractical for interdictions.

It's main boon will be it speed and accelleration. It will be fast, very fast. Fast enough to chase down both Viper and Cobra's. It will at most have Asp level maneuverability, but most likley be worse.

Mid lever firepower not much better than a Cobra. But close in and laid out Zorgon style with 1 large on top in front of the cockpit and 2 medium hard points under the nose.

4 Utility slots, but a woeful cargo capacity with lots of small internal compartments for gear but only one big one for the shield generator.

And like all Zorgon ships, it will have a good jump range, because a bounty hunters ship with a bad jump range is practically useless when chasing felons through wakes.

It's not going to be the end all combat ship, but it right hands it'll be deadly.

I also fully expect an austere yet still luxury interior, think modern carbon fibre high end sports car interior.

It looks to sit somewhere between the Cobra and Asp in size - gauging from the size of the maneuver-thrusters. But being more multi-role and combat oriented, I'd expect a starting price in the 3-5 million range, 5-6 hardpoints and 3-4 utility mounts. Internal fittings is anyones guess.

Looking forward to get more detailed information on it. We certainly need more ships in general, and in the mid-price range especially.

I see we think alike.

I think it will be pretty well much as Zylark says... so around the same price as the Asp, perhaps a smidge cheaper, with smaller sized internal fittings to reduce its potential for cargo hauling, but with a jump range perhaps only slightly less or on par with the Asp (so a combat/explorer type vessel).

The weapon hardpoints will be the most interesting and as the Zorgon Peterson designs seen so far all have odd weapon loadouts (hauler = 1, adder = 3), I would think that 5 is the most likely amount, and that could be two medium and three small, or two small and three medium ... or perhaps more interestingly 4 small and one large.

Whatever the roll or the price of the FDL... I wants! It looks SO nice... It just needs an insane V12 like noise, much like a Lamborgini of the old 21st century :)

When I get back from deep space in a few months I might look at the FDL. It does look good but it depends on how much and how good it really turns out to be. Time will tell. :)
