Minti2

Deadly, But very fluffy...
The 'breadline' is a Federal concept designed to force it's citizens into work they have little choice of. Fall below it and you're a beggar, an outsider, an undesirable. What kind of civilised society would allow such catastrophe to befall it's members? What kind of morality would tolerate such shameful misery? Corporate greed is the true monster of Humanity; with it's wicked lies of happiness and illusions of personal progress. The Federation is a whole scale manipulator of it's own people and then presents itself as a guardian of equality.
The Empire has a honest system of status that is impossible to misinterpret. Everyone has a place and knows their place. It's a dream made real through the genius of The Emperor and the glory of his Navy.
Besides, rebellions are always localised and quashed before they can gain momentum. Those Amphitheatres don't fill themselves you know! :p

Nicely put as always :)

I think if this forum ever needs an Imperial Propaganda Minster (and the truth of course) it should be you!
Pay is good, and some slaves thrown in for a good productivity bonus! ;)

That's very kind TLG. :)
However, just like you, I hope to honour the Emperor with my pilot skills rather than my . . .viewpoints (I was going to say tongue but it could be misinterpreted!) The free slaves are certainly tempting though.
I think FD are managing to create an exciting, dynamic background for the game. I'm getting so impatient to play it's driving me nuts.
I'm just going to have to wait and keep playing Oolite.
@ Frank. The Alliance are nothing more than a group of vagabonds and riff raff. They can't even decide on a coherent trading structure never mind a political one. They are responsible for the proliferation of piracy and mayhem throughout space. Nothing more than barbarians.
;)

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall during that discussion :D
Yeah ... Id love Michael to confirm if went something like :

"So, you build an enclosure for the chimps"

"They only need a wooden fence"

"But a Lion would need a chain fence"

"Yes ... I have had a crazy thought ... what if you put a lion in with the chimps?"

"Well ... the lion would kill and eat the chimps"

"Ah but what if they have a house?"

"Then they'd hide in the house"

"And if you took the house away?"

"Well then they couldn't hide and the lion would kill and eat them"

"Wouldn't the lion escapee from a chimp enclosure with a wooden fence?"

"Not unless you pick the lion up and drop him in his own enclosure"

"Or dropped him in with the peeps"
