In which case the Feds would never have had a basis for preventing the Empire coming after NMLA in one of their systems. Feds were the first to claim "moral highground" here, and look where it got them; wholesale massacre of their citizens.
But only after Mitchell got all hypocritical about it.

The NMLA didn't attack Federal space until the Federation started arresting refugees as terrorists. Had the Federation not drawn a very big distinction between "Federal mercenaries who blow up Imperial facilities" (get a medal) and "NMLA members who blow up Imperial facilities" (get arrested and sent to Serene Harbour) then the NMLA would probably still be confining their attention to Imperial space.

That's where I think the NMLA is just a convenient front. </tinfoil> I think Theta 7 is calling the shots on this, and their motivations have nothing to do with Superpower borders.

i know there has been a lot of discourse going into blurring the lines between soldiers/mercenaries/combatants and terrorists/criminals with invention like the "unlawful combatants", stripping rights you'd either get as a combatant or a criminal under investigation, but i wouldn't fall for that.

while the attack on nova imperium in paresa is clearly a breach of treaties and more so of intersystem laws, the mercenaries fighting for that interventionist "federal" league of mandu clearly are combatants, not criminals. the one to prosecute would be league of mandu. while the NMLA terrorists are criminals under investigation (by ACT at the moment), and can't and shouldn't claim being combatants.

good news for those who signed up for League of Mandu and didn't intent to be a puppet for the NMLAs terror or a federal faction in breach of intersystem war, but there for the CR or some misunderstanding - they can simply switch sides without being treated as terrorists.

What about the Muhdrid branch?
the outcome of that is broadly in lines of what i have outlined above:
  • The Landgrave of Mudhrid and his inner circle ... receive life imprisonment at a local detention facility (being treated as criminals).
  • The Steel Majesty’s population will undergo security vetting by the Marlinist Constabulary to identify extremists. (note: again being treated as potential criminals under investigation until cleared, it's a matter for the constabulary) The remainder will be permitted to remain in the system and apply for citizenship (not being treated as criminals).

a process being approved by blaine. of course it is sad that they had to seek asylum in the first place.

i don't get it. support a federation for abducting people from their homesystems, or what?
You have done far worse things in your career as a CMDR. So have I. But the point here is: This will heavily influence NOVA Imperium's internal and external power relations. Sure, it probably has nothing at all to do with the NMLA attacks. But it's still a good thing to achieve.

Suppose the Empire decided they want to go for a Fed faction somewhere... would it stop the Empire if the Feds said "no"? Of course it wouldn't.
Your final sentence offers an interesting possible answer to the question of who actually committed the "NMLA" attacks, and why.

So, I wanted to take a screenshot of me in Top 10 Commanders for the 5th time...

Then I saw this:

FDEV ROBBED ME.jpg

I was at close to 200 million credits in bonds, definitely Top 10 Commanders...but because FDev has ROBBED ME of that, I'm afraid you'll just have to take my word for it!

And that's why you should use INARA as it tracks your contributions as well ;)
Eh, that's just salt in the wound, honestly...insult to injury. I mean, it's a shame that FDev programmed Tier 0 CGs to self-delete like that, but it's also half my fault for not taking the picture at the 0 hour 30 minute mark, like when it crossed my mind.

Good news, though, this isn't anything I can't recover from, plus there will always be more chances to try again until I die of old age. I just wish my non-renewable time didn't feel like such a WASTE. 🍺

You could have fought for the good guys aka the Empire instead, you know? ;)

No, I'd take any chance I can to kick them in the teeth. Since Alliance are just minding their own business with no real way to prove myself to them most times (except for the odd Anti-Xeno bill), I've sort of become a hardcore Fedneck by circumstance...including but not limited to the vital detail of Earth as my roots, both in-character and out-of-character.

Gameplay-wise, you're right. Story-wise, in my head, not gonna cut it.

Well, then today seems like its your lucky day after all... go check ingame Galnet. Seems like Mahon finally poked the 'goids enough to have them attack multiple stations in several nebulae...

There should be an entry in your journal. You can screenshot your favorite text-editor while displaying it ;)

Then why didn't you take a picture the community goal page under the mission tab where all the information is still listed?
Including your contribution and outstanding reward?
Or did you also claim that money before you took the shot? ;-)

On the other hand, they just handed out billions. How do you like your 200k for this one? :p
It's not a bad return for just one Eagle kill in a CZ.

The bonus for getting over 35 million credits worth of kills for the top 10% was less exciting than getting all those kills.
