I hate the name "community goals" destroys any feeling of roleplay .Without RP im not going to waste time and money partaking .There should be benefits but there are none worthwhile .They must have missed the posts about it in beta .....

They don't call them community goals in the game only in the technical notes. Never mentioned in GalNet. Don't let it spoil your fun :D

edit... premium beta...

I haven't even logged into ED for a couple of weeks now which is pretty much unbelievable if I take that enthusiasm into account what I had for 2 years seeing ED to be developed. I don't even know if my client is up to date (possibly not).
Waiting for ED with all the "atmospheric dreams" was much more exciting than the game itself. So I can use my imaginaton.

I only participate in one community goal which is the forums here. Much more room to play and blaze my trail than in the game I'm afraid.
And already gone to play something else.
ED as a game is emptier than the space it represents.

So... none of >>>this<<< actually happened? Reminds me of the Launch Trailer.... is this going to become a bad habit for FD?

Hey! That game looks HAWT!!! What game is that?! I want to play that!!

IT was a bit underwhelming, i am not getting involved in the goals again. I did 5000t and went to explore the centre of the universe. I am coming back today and i can receive 50K reward ! It would have been nice to be able to build space stations more often. But the rewards were nerfed. I assume that the rewards could have been multiplied if the goal was reaching 9 trillion tonnes. But ED doesn't have that amount of players and let's face it fetching missions are even more boring than trading. Slightly more exciting than mining though.

At this point we would have the right to sue Frontier for fraud and false advertising, demand an official public apology from Braben himself and publicly burn whoever was in charge of marketing at FD up untill now at the stake.

In an ideal world, that is.

Please, if someone at FD reads this: Fire the PR guy. Or girl. Whoever thinks that making trailers about upcoming content that nobody is ever going to actually see or experience in the game is a great idea!

Throw this person out on the street from his or her office window - and I pray the office is high above ground level!

I'm sure FD would do just that, IF it wasn't working to sell more copies of ED. ;)

We need a Hitler parodie!!!!
That would be so funny.

The complexity and scale of the Yembo Yimbo project was so utterly mindblowing it definitely deserves a proper Hitler dialog.

He should be a an 'elite' player who interrogates the devs(people in his office) why nothing happened after he spend 1 week trading from A to B. ... and then he goes totally bezerk.

Hm ... same is valid for me.

I just played a few hours again
but everytime i keep discovering new bugs.

After some rough calculations, based on empirical data, i figured out the amount of bugs is bigger then the amount of star systems in the universe.

They have build 400 biljion systems but every system i visited seems infected.

Sigh...
All we can do is hope and wait till the explorers return.
I pray they find a decent planet which is suitable for colonisation.

or maybe a terraforming colony to ugprade to a full planet and then place a new terraforming colony somewhere.

Sure Ollobrains.... but we must be 100% certain, that we don't take any bugs with us if we expand again.
The balance of a planet is hard to restore, once it is infected.

Btw Idea for a cartoon:
Kinda cheap and harsh but made me laugh
dunno....

Title: community goal
Ingredients:
David B. as a giant
1 big hot smelly turd
Various cmdr's in mini sidewinders
mining and scooping

Oh yes, it happened. Just not in the cinematic way it's portrayed in the trailer, but nothing in Elite works like that because they don't use cutscenes at all. I couldn't tell you if there was a point in time where you could have witnessed the arrival of the actual module, but that would have been the only way to experience it EXACTLY as portrayed in the trailer. There was (is? I don't know if all stages are completed yet) an Orbis starport under cunstruction, still without it's ring, in New Yembo.

So saying "one of dem copy paste stations just appeared out of nowhere, they cheated us all" is plain wrong.

This is what it looks like: http://imgur.com/a/bLqsS
