Finally (after just under 1,500 hours in) got my first Elite (Exploration) on Saturday!

Seems an awful long time for so many I-was-Firsts.

I made Elite Explorer quite some time ago, and purely by accident. Happened on my way back from the Guardian Ruins. Was already Elite in Trade, so didn’t need it. Going to get Combat some day too... 98% Deadly if I recall. Will probably never get CQC unless NPC’s are added, there’s never anyone there.

Yeah definitely a long time, but equally I've always done a variety of things, and also spent months playing originally without using any out of game resources. (I think it was about 4 months before I new the forums existed!)

Besides, surely taking a while is to be expected, as we're all having to scrabble around looking for minor I-was-Firsts cos someone's already got the only one that really counts.

I also wish that passenger missions were not included - I got my Elite exploration two days ago but a chunk of that was due to a sightseeing spot I found on the edge of the bubble that I used as a money maker early in this save (my only credit here is that at least it was something I found myself - not any of the publicised ones)

Got the final push to Elite after spending the last week trying to find anything biological in the Rift.... less life out there than a Tory party conference

Top effort on looking for biologicals in the Rift - finding nothing's still important!. If everything is everywhere then that would in a way render it all meaningless. The same biolgicals shouldn't be everywhere - it's a big galaxy and they don't exactly have space flight, let alone FTL.

Personally, as well as finding braintrees on the Synuefe/Col 70 border, and establishing some of the boundaries along the border, I also spent quite a while checking the bubble / Synuefe side of the unlocked areas within Col 70 for Braintrees, and finding none, which confirmed the Braintree fields having an edge within the Col 70 wall near the system referenced by the Thargoid probes.

So there's definitely value in finding nothing in places! o7

You need to get on Discord and get ready. the thing is with that though, there are players that are already Elite or Prestige XX times so the ships they have just dominate you, it doesn't get fun when you get popped every two seconds. Its fun while it lasts but its a very big unfair advantage, even more so when they post on discord about the noob popping. Not salty, just honest.

P.S. Just target elite ships from now on for that lubberly Triple Elite status...unless you also want the monies. Which is nice.

Though it looks to be right around the corner for me. Going to soon reach elite in mining! ...er, I mean trading.

I recently got Trade Elite, due to mining, but I don't particularly care about that one. It was kind of an accident. Lol

Hoping to get Exploration Elite soon, after my next trip out to the rim.
Only need 18%.

Then Combat Elite when I can be bothered to kill something. Only 12% for this one. But I've become bored of combat recently (hence mining and exploring!).

Something that's made a huge difference has been being part of various threads and sections of the forum. A lot of that stuff wouldn't normally make it over to wider parts of the playerbase, which is part of the reason for posting this stuff in Dangerous Discussions rather than the normal locations.

How's the trip going? It's only a week or so, but I hope it's all going well, and am looking forward to being able to congratulate you on your own Exploration Elite! o7

I made it back, cashed in 50M of explo data and hit Pioneer 18%. And I managed to get the bonus for completely mapping the 'target' system (SLEGI YX-F D12-16) with the Earth-like I found in 2017. Netted 11M alone on that one system... Elite rank is some way off yet, but I'm setting off again in the opposite direction and a whole new adventure. My DBX, "Gulfstream" now has a max range of 71.30LY. I could get that to 71.7, but I like to have a mining laser on hand for materials gathering out in the black. Never leave home without one!
