Finally found...

Started playing almost 2 months ago, and I have finally found my first Earth-like planet. Next up, aliens! :-D Earthlike.jpg

Diamondback Explorer.

Doesn't have a lot of module slots, but when exploring and scanning, that's a good thing.

It's a looker...no question. I think I might find it a tad claustrophobic on extended trips after the relative spaciousness of my ASP.

That is the SCOUT. The explorer is almost entirely yellow.

You are correct sir... though I'm not sure what the allure of having increased jump distance is when exploring. If you use "fastest route" you miss over half the potential exploration targets on the trip.

Sometimes you want to go faster because you have a destination in mind. Sometimes, if you get away from the core, there are places you need a long range to get to.

You can plot on eco whatever your max range is and get the same results if that's what you're after.

I found my first EL recently too and it was in a system where the original discoverer just tagged the main star and moved on to who knows what important destination. Clearly, for some people getting to a destination trumps pasting your name on a EL.

Go to the very rim, see how far you can go, and don't run out of fuel! :p

Post results, I can't go exploring until multiple saves are created, for obvious reasons.
