Finally got 5 star in less than 3 hours in challenge mode

I know! It is suppose to be easy mode, but I five stared Manteceros without even trying, and without having anything big. I have a Rex, Allosaurus, Suchs, loads of herbs and it stays at 4.5. I am at a total loss. This is the amount of trouble I had on Sorna, which I had to bulldoze to the ground and restart three times to get give stars.

lol you need to play it yourself not copy my park but heres the unlocked jurassic mode skin. easy peasy. indom.jpg

I recommend watching one of the "How to 5-star" videos on Youtube. BestInSlot is one of the best when comes to explaining things.

And it really IS easy once you know what you're doing.

Dinosaur variety and wellfare is straightforward enough (100% genomes are a big help), and even the visitors aren't THAT hard to figure out.
My best "easy mode" tactic is to create three or four "visitor islands" (depending how big the map is) with hotel, shoping, restaurant and arcade and fan the exhibits around it, each with one gallery and one tower, all separate and connected via the monorail.
The trick is to "force" visitors to stay in one place and have all facilities ready for them.

That way, you can 5-star every island with less than half of the map used and then you can take your time going after looks.
Don't spread your visitor services too much and keep the enclosures just big enough for the dinos to be fine with them, but not TOO big to reduce visibility (it requires some knowledge of individual dinos so you know what you can get away with.)

It takes me at least half an hour to get 1 star. I don't see how I can get 5 in under three hours. :(

Rome also wasn't built in a day. Don't stress over it. Play the game, enjoy the dinosaurs and eventually it'll start making sense.
It's not Forza. You don't have to win to have a good time.

On my first playthrough, I actually didn't 5-star ANY of the islands. And not because a lack of trying. :D

That's the thing, though. You need to finish it in under three hours (on medium difficulty or higher) for the trophy. I just want the trophies and the skins. Otherwise, I'd stick with campaign mode. I don't find challenge mode enjoyable at all. It's just extremely stressful.

I think the hint is in the name - "Challenge" ;)

Seriously though, just try some normal island. Restart it and see what you can do and in what time. There are no masters without practice

Now that's a proof, but to say it's easy, i call that being a cokalorum. :)
Today i was close btw, 4.5 stars under 2h45, but then i noticed that maybe i was going to need 100 dinosaurs,

Took me a few attempts and had 70 dinos in the park in total on the run through that was successful.

Here's how it went down:

3x enclosures were created (not all at once due to money) to be fed by 1x creation lab. First I put about 5 trikes in, then a few Huayangosaurus in a separate enlosure. Then added Edmontosaurus & Struthis to the Trike enclosure. 3 Ceratosaurus to the third enclosure got me my first star while completing as many contracts as possible to increase funds as quickly as possible.

After 1 star I focused on getting all the species I could from the American digsites to get me to 2 stars, plus I think adding Chrictonosaurus and then the raptor DNA (but not incubating any yet oh no!). By getting all the North American species, when you need to get the T-Rex DNA your dig team will more likely return Rex fossils cos you maxed out all the others. If they don't you can also make a fortune selling the DNA of Edmontosaurus, Triceratops, Dracorex, Ankylosaurus, Stuthiomimus etc. Also tried to feed Dracorexes to the Ceratos to boost infamy.

I hatched 1x Rex into big enclosure of Diplodocus and Corythosaurus and put a gyrosphere on for the guests. This got my the 3rd star when I added Brachios in. Next I made 2 more large enclosures, one ready for Indominus and the other just as an option in case I needed either Camarasaurus, Spinosaurus, Indoraptor or Giga to eventually gain the 5th star (turned out I didn't need any of them!). Adding more sauropods in the massive Rex/Sauropod enclusure, plus hatching Indominus and feeding it dinos for infamy got me to 4 stars. However, the Rex was hunting too many dinos so I moved it the 'spare' enclosure above and increased it's combat infamy by feeding it Baryonyx as much as I could afford while replacing it with 2x Metriacanthosaurs in the Sauropod enclosure.

For the final star - I got this by tweaking the shops/restaurants/fun attractions and adding as many Dilophosaurus as I could to the Ceratosaur and Indominus pens. I quickly made a separate small enclosure and added 3x raptors and few more dilos keeping an eye on the guest satisfaction scores.

The big difference from earlier fails was that I left putting raptors in until the last 10-15 mins which I think is key cos they're the hardest to tranq if they get loose in a storm and this wastes so much time!

Also to note, there was no need for a monorail (preferred funds for increasing dino populations for variety & combat infamy). I only added Science and Security buildings (no Innovation Centre as this also is expensive). And finally I only researched about 3x genetics - the shark DNA mainly, plus all the medical research was completed.

There is still a bit more to it than the above because the layout is quite important to an extent so that you don't cause yourself problems as the park expands but increasing the dino rating I found way harder than getting the facility to be 5* so if you're trying for this trophy and getting stuck, I hope something can be learned from this post. Good luck trophy hunters! :D
