Finally - got my own Anaconda :)

Congrats! It is a nice feeling - I have been playing since beta and only got my Conda a few months ago ;) I'm hoping that 2.1 will bring a greater variety of missions to use her for though, at the moment she is only really profitable for trade.

Congrats to the OP.

I've been there and know the moment when you finally can afford one of the BIG BOY ships is special. Anaconda is a superb ship in every aspect and I'm sure you'll love it.

I used mine with great succeed but also had some sad moments with her.

Remember that, once you fly such a ship, errors are more painful than with other smaller, cheaper ships.

Fly safe commander;

Right on Commander.

Took me about 600 hours and nearly a whole year to get mine, still C rated to this day.

She's fat at first and feels a lot squishier so be careful and fly safe

Nice! Just got mine as well and quickly realized how cool the damage modeling is! I first saw it when a rail asp made a pass over me when I had no shields. The entire left side looked like it had been through a blender!

Congrats on the Anaconda, when I had mine we didn't really get along and I went back to my Clipper after a week.
I didn't like the bridge being so far back and seeing the long front end out of my screen, but that's just a personal issue

Have fun with your new ship

That is one thing that I absolutely LOVE about the anaconda. That huge nose below the bridge really gives me the feeling of commanding a HUGE battleship. (even though my conda has been more of a massive cargo ship for most of her life lol)

Different strokes for different folks though I do understand.

Gratz! Double gratz for waiting till you had enough for insurance instead of playing it risky then slamming it into a station on your first trip and quickly waving goodbye to it. Kitting her out properly is rewarding but painful.

Managed to get an hour of play in, so headed to LTT 8517 and have been doing a few trade runs. I think she's got about 388T of room currently for commodities and I've managed to make a few mill on top of what I had, and I'm also now running pulse turrets in all spaces apart from the smalls - chucked a couple of seeker pods on those since that was the only useful small weapon available at the time. Might prove useful taking down smaller pirates once the shields have gone.

I've not used her in 'anger' yet properly. I dropped into an USS to try my luck and unfortunately it was a Dangerous Federal Corvette packing rails - I did a quick Sir Robin! :D

Don't be disappointed about the turn rate of a D specced conda. A class thrusters really unleashes the beast.

I highly recommend not skimping on the Military Alloy (THE most expensive component); it almost completely mitigates the "exposed powerplant" problem and protects other modules as well. Speaking from experience here as I got shot up to single digit hull a couple times, and didn't have a single module malfunction.

Burst laser turrets are your friends. Don't mount a Huge weapon in the class 4 slot, the placement is poor for a fixed weapon, you really need to lead your shots with both the cannon and the PA, and your overall DPS/DPE suffers.

Great info's CMDR!

Right on Commander!

Well Annie is near the end game:(

I have still away to go to get a A Python:)

But whats the hurry:)

Took me 10 years to get bored with my last game Ever Quest:)
This is only second year:))

Been having plenty of fun - and even in D fit out it's pretty good at dishing out moderate amounts of pain in the res areas. I've noticed one thing though, it's making me fly way more cautiously than I've done in a long time, and this is a good thing. In my old FDL, I felt invincible - anything that hurt me I could easily run from. Now that isn't the case, I can't run I have to choose my battles a little more carefully.

Need a bigger distributor and power plant quick smart. Can't really add/change my pulse turrets for anything else until I have more juice. :(

Congrats Lowe.

yes the Annie is a unique vessel.

This thread is also a goldmine of sharing goodness...despite owning a Tradeconda for a couple months, I've not been that enthralled...but this thread of positivity will reinvigorate my enthusiasm.

Like another contributor, I also have a smuggling Asp Explorer for Robigo runs (I keep getting scanned every two out of three runs so I must be doing something wrong...but it's so much fun I keep going back for more)...and a fully combat fitted FAS for RES work...also fun until I become wanted for some unknown reason despite ultimate carefulness not to shoot anything but the target!

Have fun!

Had a 'conda. Sold the 'conda to get a Cutter (to amass some quick Cr with missions/trading/BH/etc). Will get 'conda back, rig it for exploration and hit the pedal towards the unknown (once again).

It's hard to not like the 'conda once you get a hang of it. Before I bought my own I was pretty much like "meh! Lumbering piece of **** that can't do squat" - which opinion changed about the moment I flew it out of the station :D

The only thing I don't like in the 'conda is that it's so hard to see in pitch dark where the hoot your nose is!

Congratulations!
Got my Conda after a week of smuggling missions before the nerf. Got ~300kk and just bought it.
I don't use it much cause i don't like "big" ships.
But for sure it's a great vessel and i don't think i'll exchange it to Corvette\Cutter, cause those ships just don't worth it for me in todays ED realities.
