It's only taken 2 years to install the damn stuff on my street. But fibre is finally available!
Estimated download speed of 55~Mbs, and upload of 10~Mbs.
Sure beats 5 down, and 0.5 up!
Decided to switch from Sky to BT.
To "upgrade" within sky, they wanted £99 for a new router. I don't want, or need, or can even use their router... I need 3 Ethernet ports... Theirs only has 2.
They also wanted a £60 activation fee.
And then up my payments for £43 a month.
With a top speed of 34Mbs.
BT on the other hand, just a £60 activation fee, and £35 a month.
Plus a £125 MasterCard gift card I can spend anywhere.
With a top speed of 55Mbs.
No brainer. Was tempted to go for a mobile sim card too, £15 for 20Gb of data. Maybe another time. I need to check they run on EE anyway.
Roll on 25th...
I'm going to download everything!
