But dang these 5 size modules are very expensive. She's gonna have to be a hangar queen for a bit while I build up the funds to outfit her for mining. Always the same path it seems... buy a ship, go broke, outfit that ship, go broke again, try and use the ship and hopefully make the credits back. And, it's a well worn path for this poor commander. I guess tomorrow I'm back on the trade routes in my T6. Making relatively decent credits doing that and with some luck it won't take long to get this new ship fit for flying. If you do core mining, she will made you rich soon. Exactly this why I love Elite so much. There is always a goal what you want to do, and so sweet when you done. I still do the same with 2 Vettes and a Cutter in my hangar. Priority changed, but I still have goals. Keep up! o7

I too am in an Asp. I loaded up with cargo holds and just take the dunnage offered by the highest bidder. In a few days she is A rated. It took longer pimping out the FSD then anything.

AspX is a great medium ship. First ship I could survive longer in the old CZ's. Lived in it several months before moving on to a gunship.

Asp X was my core miner for about a week while I made hundreds of millions. Taking a break to play other parts of the game now that I bought and outfitted my Krait II for missions. But I'll need money again soon.

What a great job it does in this role.

I find the AspX the perfect core mining ship. Maneuverable, packs all the mining tools, and great visibility for using the pulse wave analyser.

You don't need to A-rate everything. Get started by puddle-jumping between a system with resources and a system which pays plenty for the core minerals. Just A-rate modules from profit.

Try a 2A refinery, and give yourself some extra cargo space. You don't need many refinery bins when you're hunting core minerals. Changing my refinery from 3 to 2 class gave me more time mining, and more credits per hour (made 50 mil in one session with 72 cargo).
