Finally there are prescription lenses for Odyssey/+

I have been using the VR Lens Lab VR Frames for some time now to great effect with my Samsung Odyssey https://vr-lens-lab.com/product/vr-frames-virtual-reality-glasses/ . They work well, but do get uncomfortable for long VR sessions.

I had not been able to find anywhere that did proper inserts that were specifically designed for the Odyssey/Odyssey +, that is until now :)

I've just found and ordered a pair of these: https://widmovr.com/product/odyssey-prescription-lens-adapters/

I'll drop a review when i receive them!

Hopefully this will be of use to fellow Odyssey users.

Ordered these a week ago, but they are stuck in customs! Several attempts at circumnavigating bureaucratic paperwork and they should finally get realeased in the next few days! Urrgh!

Have to say though that wearing glasses in the Odyssey+ is not a problem at all...

My glasses touch the lenses unfortunately. The vr glasses are really good, but dig in a little after prolonged use. Would be interested in your review of these new inserts 👍🏻

I will be waiting for the review. I like that they can be added/removed in seconds. It would make passing the headset over to someone else a lot easier.

Would like to hear more, specially off any Aussies and what they have purchased and the prescription used

As I have Three types of glasses; Tri /bifocals just didn't feel right for me
1) Reading
2) Long distance
3) Computer Glasses blue tinted , distance to Monitor is about 95 /105 cm

As in trying to be sure I have the correct information from one of the leading optimist companies in Oz
has left me feeling very unsure they know anything about prescription lens inserts for VR, and the requirements those prescription need

My lenses are here! Will test them tonight!

Edit: got home and tried them...

They work perfectly and seem to fit very securely just over the top of the HMD lenses.
No complaints so far!

I've had mine for 2 days now and can say I'm very happy so far.

Points to note:

1. Optical quality is pretty good - lens is concave towards the eye.
2. Fitment and removal is simple and the tolerances to the headset are spot on allowing positive engagement and a nice snug fit. They are embossed left and right and come with a cloth pouch.
3. The lens is slightly closer to the face (as expected) and for me the top edge of the insert slightly touches on the eyebrow (may replace standard pad with VR Cover type to see if that improves things).
4. I went with standard lenses (non blue) as I have the blue filter on my VR Lens Lab glasses and I do notice a minor blue effect on those.
5. Glare from edge of view appears to be reduced - I appear to have less glare from strong light sources at the edge of view than before, which may be due to either having the lens closer to the eye or because of the optic design.

Overall, I'd give them 8/10. As I am currently in the US, there was an issue with FedEx import which delayed delivery - this may not be the case if you are in the UK....

Loving them! It’s so nice to not have to worry about glasses and they are such a tight fit over the actual lenses that there is no danger of them moving let alone coming off.

10/10

So are these from https://vroptician.com/prescription-lens-inserts/oculus-rift/ ?

And has anyone else got inserts with the blue tint ?
