Finding it impossible to do slopes

I’m trying to create a gently sloping wide valley but sculpting the slopes is proving to be very challenging. Instead all I can do is smoothed down terraces. But I want a slope from top to bottom. Any advice on how I can achieve this would be very much appreciated.

to clarify, this is the terrain I want to smooth. I want to smooth the terrain from the highest level down to the bottom so it's one continuous gentle slope.

Have you tried the 'Smooth' function?🤨

Funnily enough I have. Even on the highest setting I can only get it to smooth over the edges of each ‘terrace’. It won’t just smooth out them all into a single gentle slope the way it does in ZT2 for example.

The smooth function only uses its radius.
Larger areas can not be smoothed out continuously. What we basically would need to create larger (as in: not just habitat-sized) landscapes would be a huge tool radius.

I have the same issue. I plan to create wide hills for a Bavarian zoo (some day, at least, when/if we will get an European animals DLC).
What might help (I actually haven’t tried this so far, because it’s one of Rudi’s tips in the linked video which I watched for the first time) is this basic forms tool. I didn’t realize that it can be banked! Maybe, if you use this one and rotate it ever so slightly and just subtract the volume? There will be many such subtractions necessary, but at least the slope will be nice and smooth.

I think, it’s at least worth a try and I will do so for my hills! :)

Have you tried the "flatten to slope"? Find the slope you think might work, on just a small section. Then, click the flatten to slope.
It isnt the most intuitive way, as this option "cuts" away at the edges. But, if it will give you your slope, you can always go back and smooth the edges of the slope.
Another option may be to use the shapes(terrain snap) tool. There is a way to adjust there size, and angle. (advanced move) Might be your ticket.

Slopes are REALLY hard. One tip, make sure you have your brush set so it aligns with the terrain. This makes it easier to clean up after the first rough passes with the flatten to slope tool (which is not the most well done tool).

Thanks for the responses, will see what I can do. It’s frustrating because in many ways the game is such a step forward from ZT2 and in other ways it’s much worse and clunkier!
