Newcomer / Intro Finding Stations in Systems Without Planets

Hey guys, I have a quick question. (Just got this game over the weekend and LOVE it)

Anyway, I am almost out of fuel in one of the systems that has no planets. On the system map it shows two space stations but for the life of me I cannot find them. I've have this problem in other systems that don't have stations orbiting planets. The system map just shows the station out in space, not pointing to a star. I've flown out to both stars in this system to no avail. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Out of range stars and planets won't show up, you have to go discover them, but stations should always be available on the navagation panel (the systems panel on the left).
Just select it from there and point your ship and go.

Thanks

Ah, that makes sense. I was never able to select anything from that nav list as I couldn't get my cursor over there - I didn't think it was accessible, it just stays on the left and I can select between System and Galaxy. I am using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I used some bindings from a post on this forum. You can use the hat to navigate menus but I guess I haven't figured out how to jump to that second screen area in the nav window. I feel like I would have tried pushing the hat to the right but maybe not.

I'm on the right track now, thanks a bunch guys!

There is another key to jump to the next panel. The hat doesn't do it (Not on my setup anyway, it moves stuff within the various panels)
I use Q and E but I can't remember if they were the defaults or not

keyboard wise, i think mine defaulted to -

1, 2, 3, 4 should take you to each panel, repeating the same will take you back to main view.

Q & E should move you along the headings/titles

A, W, S ,D should then move you through the options within the selected heading/title

and i think the space bar acts as selection

I'm also using the logitech 3d, along with my old trusty nostromo n52. I use the n52 for navagating subsystem panels as well as for thrusters when docking. Working really well for me.

Thank you very much guys, this will certainly solve my issue. This seems like a great community from what i've seen so far.

New to the game myself, its nice getting the chance to be helpfull :) and I have to agree, this community is a really nice change from what im used to

If you are seeing bases with no planets on a system map, then it could be those planets simply haven't been scanned yet. Try using your discovery scanner to find them , if that doesn't work, the best I could say would be fly in a direction to about the distance of the station and look around and if that doesn't work, go back and try a different direction.
