General / Off-Topic Finding work after 40

Dude, I work for a small company called System Simulation. We're based in Covent Garden (London) and we do collection management systems (i.e. databases) for some of the biggest museums in the world (V&A, British Museum, Royal Academy) as well as lots of smaller ones and lots of other stuff too (e.g. web front ends). We're one of the oldest Software companies in the world (founded in 1970).

If you're seriously interested then pm me and I'll give you the email address to send your CV to (Elite beta tester does it for me!). :D

Following on from the suggestion to 'do something completely' different. I have launched a website to Produce Independent films.

The question now is how cmdrs would feel about being invited to provide crowdfunding pledges.

If anyone is involved in Film making , Poster design or would be interested in getting involved in the production process drop me a line. Any idea for films any genre also welcome.

Without offending you, it seems legitimate. The forums perhaps not be the place to do this kind of thing ?

One of things Ive realised is if you want to get into the Movie or gaming business you need to have a thick skin. If you don't make the grade you get heavily criticised. If you are successful people don't like that either lol.

The original idea behind crowdfunding was to go directly to the group who would consume your product. Online communities that you belong to are also a legitimate way to build interest.

This Elite community which I am apart of is supposed to be a great community. If I am stranded light years from any where with no fuel some will come to the rescue. Well on one level I am stranded and thought I doa shout out.

There was a case where someone went to this forum and asked for a free copy of Elite because they couldn't afford it. Another cmdr replied and paid for this copy. No one accused any one of begging.

In any case the intention the idea was to create a product that would be delivered. So it was a case of pre order rather than 'begging'.

Its like the startup crowdfunding revolution never happened.
