Firmware

Plug your telly into the HDMI and this will free up the DVI-I

my monitor is vga connection so will need an adaptor. Have a spare hdmi cable which will try tomorrow, and i know it works. If that doesnt solve it will get my monitor out the dvi port with an adaptor, either vga-hdmi or vga-div-d

fingers crossed getting closer. at this rate CV1 will be out

How many screens do you have plugged into your PC? Try unplugging everything except your monitor and the DK2 and see if that helps.

If you're still having a problem, are you able to borrow an additional monitor to swap out for your main screen to see if that's causing the problem?

Are you by any chance using a KVM switch or VGA splitter between your PC and the monitor?

The EDID error suggests that one of the screens connected to the PC isn't reporting it's attributes correctly.

That's where it's leading me to as well.

Only have the one monitor but I am using a vga to dvi-i adapter with it. not sure whether it's that or the rift reporting the error. Shouldn't be too difficult to determine when I get chance.

Edit: actually it has to be the rift as the edid error is reported under Oculus in windows event viewer

Can you test the DK2 on another PC? Doesn't have to be super-powerful, just enough to get the drivers installed and test the demo scene - this would, at least, eliminate or confirm the DK2 as being the source of the issue.

I could but not tonight, my friend is doing what i should be doing - spending some time with his family!

Oculus support just given me a link to download Nvidia 356.04 driver

Just cant get this to work, going to have to give it up its driving me mad, even oculus support are drawing blanks, how disappointing. My only saviour may be the HDMI - DVI-D adapter that should arrive tomorrow.

Sounds like a hdmi cable issue to me. The first dk2's shipped with some bad cables. I got one with mine and had to have oculus send me a new one. You can try using an off the shelf hdmi cable to see if it fixes the problem.

i tested a new cable, the signal was getting through, i knew it must be a software/driver conflict.

Anyway, after a solid week i reinstalled windows completely and the bloody thing works!!!!! I'm stoked. Fell off my chair with the demo room, cant wait to set up elite tomorrow. Oh my days...

thanks for everyones input, very much appreciated
