First discover is "Validation"

On the other hand, I note that Validating seems to be very area reliant just as you would expect from a regular CMDR intensively exploring an area. For instance out where I am at the moment I have traveled 120kly and haven't one instance of Validating, but I did come across a few when I went to a different area on a previous trip. It's rather strange.

This is a really annoying bug as I do take an interest in other Cmdr tags while exploring. Noticed loads of Validating tags while eco plotting Brown Dwarfs around the Inner Orion Spur- It could have been another Cmdr (or Cmdr's) doing the same thing as me in the area......and their endeavours will never be known to other players.

As for the bug been acknowledged and fixed in the 2.4 update a few years ago- that is not the case. A few Codex entries are registered as Validating, such as the Glowing Green Gas Giant at Col 285 as seen in pic-

This is annoying because I found and scanned an undiscovered water world on a run between two of the colonia highway outposts.

I got the first discovered bonus but it's still showing as validating. I assumed it was just cus it was taking time to catch up but seems not.

I've run into "his" tags on several occasions this year alone, and I haven't been exploring for 2 months (because of Borann carrier grind and getting my alt account active with all the engineers, etc). There was a long period of time where I didn't see any, but "he" has returned.

Hit my first "Validating" in 120kly, it was exactly as I would expect from a pre-FSS system scan, the 3 stars were tagged, the close orbiting planet around the arrival star was tagged, the rest of the bodies in the system had no tag and none of them were interesting bodies.

It's a longstanding bug - please vote for these issues so we can get it fixed!

CMDR Validating has also been stealing Fleet Carriers. We need to put a stop to this one-man crime wave.
