First footfall

Is first footfall rewarded with credits, or is it just purely for the pleasure?

I think it's for the glory. You get the extra credits for first mapping. I guess there are some for scanning plants...

I'm pretty sure I've seen it in the system map alongside first discovered/first mapped. Maybe doesn't update instantly.

As others have said we now get ARX for First Footfall, though I haven't tested how many yet. I imagine it will add a little to your Exploration rank too (untested)

To see First Footfall you need to go into the System Map, select the planet and then click Planetary Details on the right hand side menu. (First Discovered and Mapped are in the Information tab)

I'd forgotten that detail. That's exactly why I hadn't seen it.

I've gotten a few First Footfalls (feetfall?) when I was still out in the Black. There was a surprising lack of confetti.
