First Impressions

Just a few first impressions after 3h walking...

Floor looks great, is kind of hard though.

Gravity design is unpleasant, constant pratfalls are annoying. Alternative is swimming along floor, so might as well force me to use fins. Legs an obvious flipper port.

Social and racing with a friend, making Morris dancing troupes, unreachable handholds, lots of falling down when you finally figure out where everything is hidden. Well ye... terrible experience.

Glad it was free on evolution, would have been p'd of if I payed 450ZAR for this.

Destinations already seem pointless and generic after doing 4. As much as I loved crawling, and a lot of other kinds of locomotion, don't see myself walking for too long. Can already tell its heading for a running grind.
This post made my day

.....Pretty obvious console port.

That made me laugh. Wrong way round...

And you can change the bindings to anything you like...

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL is this thing really 6 years old? And you have to navigate 3 UI's like an old 1990's dos application just to join a friend in a game? So one can get disconnected when undocking just so you can do it all over again.

And ye I came to post a real first impression. Figured many fanbois will have something to say, as seen above, but in all honesty.... In 20 years of game, one of the truly worst games i've tried. Think only no man sky launch and Titanfall topped this. God, sacred 1 with a bugged main quest was more of a game than this. This is a few pretty textures and lights on spheres. Nothing more going for it.

Keep it up. This is hilarious. ;)

Why don't you just go finish making Star Citizen already? Hehe. Just joking

Why don't you buy a mouse so you don't have to navigate windows with keyboard shortcuts? Hehe. Just joking.

5 years in and I like it just fine. Funny, I didn't pay 450ZAR either. I wouldn't even know how to get 450ZAR but I can work a game controller.

If someone could be so kind as to photoshop a Kawasaki with 450ZAR badging, I'd appreciate it.

For my main steam account I paid x.xx usd, and my alt Epic account was FREE. For that $$, this game is so worth it, bugs, Fdev balancing (or lack thereof), and all. And I must say most of the missions are crap. I made money before the mining nerf, no missions, now Pirate massacre missons pay ok, but loop aba via eddb makes more per hour (I am not allied with all the factions in my chosen system, and I am only a novice combat rank). So robigo passenger missions once allied, pirate missions once allied, loop trading via eddb, occasionally mining, or just KILL EM' All! You made a bad choice, f the menus, menus are for sissy's, go kill stuff, fly spaceships and see new things!

... 3m reading this sad excuse for a post...

... the OP is a . (W.T.F. - how is t o s s e r a banned word?)

Game looks gorgeous, and sounds great.

Yep, good - you're right.

UI design is dogsht, no offence but navigating a UI with qe ws ad spacebar etc.... Might as well force me to use a controller. Pretty obvious console port.

Completely wrong there. It's a PC game that's been ported to consoles. The reason the UI is so simple is because it was designed to be usable with VR - Elite Dangerous is widely considered one of the best VR experiences you can get, and when in VR you have to be able to operate the UI blind since you can't see your hands, keyboard, mouse, HOTAS, or whatever. In that case, the simpler the better - and that's what we've got.

Social and playing with a friend, making groups, unreachable wing requests, open mic when you finally figure out where everything is hidden. Well ye... terrible experience.

Nothing more complicated here than learning how to navigate a new application. Applies to any new thing. Perhaps you're not used to learning new things? I'd recommend learning how, though, it's a good skill for life in general.

Glad it was free on epic games, would have been p'd of if I payed 450ZAR for this.

And here we get to the nub of it - zero effort to acquire the game means zero effort to try to learn it or even like it.

Missions already seem pointless and generic after doing 4. As much as I loved freelancer, and alot of other space games, dont see myself playing this for too long. Can already tell its heading for a mining grind.

You'll be no loss. Forgotten as soon as this thread drops off the front page. I'm sort of sorry for bumping it.
