First Round of Name Submissions Over
The vast majority of you will be delighted to see that your names have been accepted; however some of you will inevitably be disappointed. As a forewarning, no employee of Frontier will enter into a discussion as to why a name was rejected. To try and justify the reason for every rejection would be far too time consuming and would take time away from more productive activities, such as working on updates, moderating, and helping people with technical issues. However, here is a list of reasons for rejection that covers 99% of cases so far:
Universal Reasons
Profanities
Duplicates
Non UTF-8 characters used
Use of Elite/Frontier names (Jameson, Elite, Braben, etc)
Commander names
Including titles or ranks
NPC names
Numbers and specific special-characters
Potential IP violations
Space stations & planet names
Advertising
Jameson names
Including Jameson in your name
We hope we have made most of you happy with our decisions. For those that have had their submissions rejected, the form will be reopened soon so you’ll have another shot at it!
Thanks, Ashley
