First Tutorial Mission: Defeate hostile operatives

Problem: Ive gotten to Command Center and downloaded the data. My next objective states: Defeat the hostile operatives...but no one is around. I've gone thru all the building and searched the outside, but no one is visible.
Any ideas?

The tutorial, whilst excellent, has some scripting issues and some things don't always trigger. Try relogging, that worked for m e.

Did you get the message to look out the window? "Normally" you get that message, then see a Viper approach and hover just outside, dropping off the enemy NPCs.

I believe so, dont remember seeing ship outside, but I got the message that hostile should be outside the door and to engage shield.

Do you get anything for finishing the tutorial? Mine bugged out just as I landed at the station but gave no way to start up where I left off ...

If you're an existing Cmdr - I don't think so. It's just a "flashback" so you get to experience it.

If you're starting off with a new Cmdr, then I think you just get to keep the bits you scavenged during the mission. It's just a nice intro to the game and how it works.
