Fixing the Grind

My main issue with the game currently is that the grind is incredibly boring, in that the tasks are too similar to justify how much waiting is involved.

To tweak this, I would tie scientists and tech tree branches to the individual facilities. Staff members would then be managed at their respective facilities, rather than an all encompassing Scientist menu. The traits could then be even more specific, as they would be tied to their division. Paleontologists are only accessible through the Expedition Center, Geneticists through the Hatchery, Vets through the Med Lab, etc

This could apply to Rangers also, where instead of assigning a Jeep to a post, you would hire Rangers at the Response Facility and assign an individual to a post, who would then use a Jeep to complete his checks. If you can't hire a ranger you have to drive in first person mode.

I think this would help to flesh out the gameplay cycle. It ends up getting too monotonous, which is crazy considering this is a Jurassic city builder.

It would be preferable, but I am somewhat doubtful Frontier would separate things back out like that even if it is more ideal.

The game is too simple and its annoying habit of notifying you for literally everything the second it happens pinpoint to the exact animal and spot it happened defeats the purpose. In short, the game lacks depth and it needs a more fleshed out progression system and some way to make it more unique on subsequent playthroughs. We can't keep gating content behind DLCs either as that limits the base game from improving at all. If the insectivore feeder and lagoon platform were added as part of the free update instead it would bode better as you could build upon them instead of having them as one-off throwaway gimmicks because Frontier can't assume all the playerbase bought those DLCs. Similarly, we need general improvement to the gameplay and not lock things to specific game modes like Campaign, Challenge Mode, or Sandbox this just limits what you can do further.

The game is pretty and has loads of species, but you aren't doing anything different at the end of the day. The animations and skins are nice and all, but I just click and wait the same repetitive motions over and over again with artificial difficulty in Challenge Mode where its largely just punishing stat changes, but I am still largely doing what I did before. Guest management is such a big thing the game needs, its getting a bit frustrating we are just dancing around the root issues and just having the game get prettier with lots of superficial features. Sandbox players might be very happy, but it doesn't feel much like a real game with how everything you do feels the same. Even when they added the MVU, it just functions like the Ranger Team except for the occasional transport to the facility, the roles aren't clear enough to distinguish them from a gameplay perspective.
