Flat rides need to be more appealing to guests

I love using flat rides in my park, because personally I love the lack of effort you need to put into them. But when you have a lot of roller coasters in your park, flat rides have no popularity. Whenever I install a flat ride, I always make sure they have 100% scenery ratings, and all my rides in my parks are free. But I guess compared to roller coasters they are unappealing. So my hope for the next patch, is that they could increase guest's desire to ride them.

Have to agree. I made a quick park with all coasters on one side, and flats on the other.

The flats side was a ghost town, and people just kept wandering around the coasters side saying the queue is full.

Sounds like my family at every theme park we've been to :)

Depends how you have the ride sequences setup also, I've had flat rides with over 1000 prestige with always full queues but some you cannot get above 400 and the guests mostly ignore them.

Would be good if you could also spend money on marketing to make a flat ride more popular. Anyone had any luck filling the Swinging Ship?

I fully agree pre-built attractions in the game are a waste of time to put in the park nobody rides them even if they are free compared to 20$ - 25$ rides that are always full, even with queue scenery at 100%. Visitors with low money prefer going back home instead of riding free rides!

planet coaster should add the possibility of buying popularity for flat ride need this so much for this game !

I have noticed this in all modes from Sandbox to challenge mode. The flat is popular for a little bit til you build other stuff, then they go to that. no one rides the flats anymore. Especially the smaller ones like bumper cars, and the balloons or wave swinger. I've added a ton of scenery to it it looks fantastic, but the peeps don't care. They gravitate to the newest items. This has been bugging me for a very long time. I've also changed up the sequesnces, this worked for a little while.. but. Still, there's like maybe 5 people on the rides at any given time in a park of almost 6000. Hopefully Frontier is looking into fixes.

But isn't that just like a real park? The latest attractions are packed because everyone wants to ride the new coaster/ride etc.

In my parks, I tend to place the coasters more towards the back of the park (in relation to the entrance), so that the 1st rides peeps come to are flat rides. They have to go a fair way into my parks before they get to ride a coaster. I find my flat rides are packed.

I used the same kind of logic and it didn't work. But i don't agree with you about the fact that it's really like that in real parks. Not only a large number of visitors don't like more ''extreme'' stuff and prefer quiet more classic rides, but all parks now only charge the ticket to get in with free rides (except stuff like slingshots etc) and even then with all rides free, smaller rides are still jammed packed. With free smaller rides in our parks compared to high price bigger rides, there should be absolutely no problem filling them up.

I think it has to do with the distance to the Entrance of the Park. Somehow the guests don't want to travel a certain distance even to coasters. Even the Monorail doesn't help much. So i think it is not really the Flatride that is the Problem... i bet it is Distance to the Flatride. And yeah more thrilling ones are generally more popular.

I've noticed that too, even with the new Ferris wheels guests wont' ride them, and to add more salt, I have a over the top roller coaster a thrilling flat ride and magic kats track ride, and only guests want to ride the magic kats ride....that I don't even understand

Maybe algorithms that move guests to rides with low waits, usually flat rides. They always go to the more popular, when they get there the line is full and they wander to the next full line, etc. when there are lots of other flat rides they can get on right away.
