Flechette turret - can we have it seeded with tomorrows serverdown?

how should i know... there wouldn't be this topic or the corresponding bug report, if i could test it out ;)

Oh,I see. I was under the impression you could see the stats from the tech broker screen, such that you can make an informed decision on what you want to unlock. Silly me.

Based on all this, I assume then that no one has any idea what this weapon actually fires out of itself, or how effective that is?

I unlocked and bought some Gauss Cannons, but I wasn't terribly impressed with them. Considering this thing takes even more grinding, I would prefer not to waste my time if the thing proves to be a TURD. ;)

Ram Tah is still inventing it, maybe he doesn't know the stats yet? :p

Try a pair of them on a Cyclops and laugh

Yeah, silly you.
you are veteran enough to know that you need 3rd party sites for informed decisions - and even those are most likely based on subjective impressions, because FDEV doesn't even provide the full information to those who have already outfitted such a weapon.
(like up to now, the heat capacity of ships is an invisible attribute)

The GGaus can't be that bad, when you consider their effectiveness in fighting thargoids, including the first few medusa-solo vids are out, featuring quardo-gauss fits for the task

haha, bad joke
somehow we could buy and use the guardian hybrid tech already a week before Ram Tah has even invented it,
but the HUMAN tech flechette turret is not there.
oh, and for the record, i can just confirm the lack of the turret - i don't know about the fixed version that i have not yet unlocked

Update:
the Turret is now seeded,
as you can see, the only difference in damage stats, is 10 less armor piercing,
but visually

FDEV - seriously????

what is that abomination of a mounting plate???

the non-turret version has already a fully 360° freedom mount:

That is the laziest model work I've ever seen, in this game. The turret version, I mean. I like the base design of the weapon.

As for the ammo, it's good to see they increased it. But.... 73 shots? Really FDev? This reeks of the condor's maneuvering thrusters all over again. Too weak by a literal order of magnitude (convinced someone just misplaced a decimal point). FDev buffs it by a whopping 100%, a huge change... but still nowhere near enough. This is basically a flak launcher. You know, those things that were spammed in the general vicinity of a thing to try and score some splash damage or a lucky hit. It does not need heavily restricted ammo. Even at 73 shots, more than double what it had initially, it still is the lowest ammo non-missile weapon in the game iirc.

no, the turret version is just wrong

the model of this flak is like 99% a copy of the AX flak, just with a different muzzlebreak.

but the AX FLAK uses the same model for fixed and turreted, and has zero other differences except a quite hefty price tag.

and the flechette gets lifted on an additional platform (ugly looking that is) and my first test in mutlicrew revealed... its not even working as a turret.
lets hope that is just a bug because my friends input settings.

edit:
here a picture of the fully functional FLAK Turret

The dawn of turreted turrets... cuz redundancies are awesome!

oh, and what i forgot to mention...
wow, this weapon is dangerous for your own ship

my gunner fired the first test round - > and of course he forgot that he had to hold down the fire button longer. -> all front internal/externals down to 82%

Does it still hit modules though the shield, then?

sure, that in the description of the weapon.

major difference to flak - penetrates shields, has much higher breach damage, lower hull damage, and deals kinetic - and twice the ammo.
i just wonder if the 6.5 breach damage is "absolute" when passing through shields, or if that is lowered by hull resists.

needs some testing tomorrow

I'm not so sure that's the intended use case considering flechette launchers will shred your opponent's thrusters right through their shields with a handful of well-timed shots.
