Fleet Carrier “Full Acct Transfers” has made it to Rackham’s Peak, HIP 58832. Join the occupation today in protest for full account transfers!

You do realize if I can’t get a full transfer then I don’t intend on playing anymore anyways right? To me, it either pays off or no sweat, I’m gone anyway. Your desires for me to “pay” are lost.
You sure are going to make other people sympathetic by antagonizing them. Because it's sure as **** players are totally responsible.

I can see Lord Braben crying from there because he can't go to Rackham sell his wine in a few weeks. Sure going to make him reconsider.

Anyone checked on Titanfall lately? Heard it’s doing really well…

There are certainly ways to get a developers attention, maybe just be glad this guy only wants to park a ship somewhere. He’s not breaking any rules by posting about it here either.

Blows my mind how snobby people still are in defending FDev. It’s cool though, you’ll get the shaft some day too, that I’m sure of.

Rakham is a unique spot since it can be completely locked down by FC (no other way to go there). Also, roughly once a month, great profit can be made there thanks to a unique "event" of some kind. IE big profit on all alcohol.
Having some people lockdown the place will certainly make a lot of people quite sad, and NONE of them are even remotely responsible for the situation. On the other hand, Fdev, will not care.

Also, Fdev likes money. Consoles pay money. They'd like to sell them stuff. They decided not to. It's not malice or because they hate you, it's because they can't. No amount of whining, boycott or whatever will change that. Even if they still decided to put odyssey on console, sony and microsoft would likely refuse.

Would you like it if I was fired from my job, so I decided to go and poop in front of your door and lock your garage to make a statement ? It's not like you can do anything, and my former employer will not care one bit. So what would it accomplish ?

Finally, I'm glad you brought Titanfall ! See, the game was in maintenance mode because nobody was playing it. I mean, not enough to justify development.

So, what happened ? Some bottom-hole decided to hack the titanfall server, to make a statement. Result ? Servers were shutdown for a while, nothing else happened. End of the days, players got upset, EA didn't care.

This thinking is bass backwards.

You seem to be missing the entire logic of forcing other players out of an area or protests as a whole. If this person or a group of people occupied the area long enough to no longer make the system viable, you’d probably see a response from both players and FDev in some capacity. Probably not to the degree of addressing the intent of the protest, but something.

Here’s a key takeaway though-
FDev let console players continue spending their money and time on a game that had no future for about a year already, they just didn’t pull the plug publicly yet. Kept a line in the players mouths with more than likely a snowballs chance in hell that they were ever going to push for Odyssey on consoles and didn’t know how to address it.

You’re also completely wrong about TF and missing the point.

The hacker situation brought huge negative press to EA and respawn forcing them to address a situation that they let continue on for a very long time with no response, all while still selling the game to the public, literally selling an unplayable game. Titanfall
Is no longer purchasable and respawn made a statement about its commitment to the Titanfall franchise. The intent of the hacks were to bring attention to the fact that respawn was neglecting the franchise in favor apex legends, not taking care of a product that players purchased outright. Sound familiar?

One way or another the hacker got a response.

Your thinking seems a bit skewed, you on payroll or something?

No nothing about their rules says I can’t stage an in game protest. It’s not malicious, it doesn’t keep anyone from playing the game, It doesn’t target player directly. If I’m breaking the rules then every ganker and pirate also is far more than I.

If a ganker targets me, i can block them or i can switch modes.
So a ganker cannot deny me parts of the game.

However, a group of carriers blocking a system of significance (or a transit system leading to that system of significance) is something that has no workaround.
Sure it has malice attached to it and sure it's going to negatively affect the playing experience for many commanders, even if you deny it.

edit: typos

Oh I can see the answer right there :
"Oh noes, we are totally sorry, we have decided to fix Odyssey, and also port it on console ! Thanks to all the glorious keyboard warriors who showed us the error in our ways ! As a thank you, they'll recieve a free panther Clipper XL !"

Or they won't do s*** because they
1/don't care
2/can't even fix their damn game to run on console
3/won't tolerate any form of blackmail, like pretty much any company around
Probably not to the degree of addressing the intent of the protest, but something.

What you are missing is 2 wrong doesn't make a right. Especially when you target the innocents around who are unable to change anything.

I know if YOU blockade some system and it impact ME, I won't say "Fdev is super wrong about console ! ", I will say "stupid people griefing me".
And yeah, I'll totally approve of Fdev if they ban you and remove your FC. Might even report you myself !

If that's the kind of support you want, then go ahead.

It brought huge negative press toward the hacker. From comment in the gaming press, most people said it was a s**** move on HIS part, not EA. EA didn't do anything malicious after all (this time).
Game live and die. Titanfall is on maintenance mode because nobody play. I played TF2 up to 6months after release. Servers were already empty. That's the sad truth.

Now before you cry on me because I don't know what I'm talking about. I played Tabula Rasa. Loved it. Guess what happened ? Oh yeah, it closed down. Such is life, still sad about it, but I'm not going to prevent YOU to play to make a statement to NCsoft.
One way or another the hacker got a response.
A bad one, yes. Made me want EA to close the server so he would be extra salty.

The hacker attack, that stupid "blockade" thing ? That's pure malice. That's not "Robin Hood" fight or some nonsense. That's 100% wrong. I don't care for what you pretend you are fighting for, the result is, you'd be fighting PLAYERS not Fdev. You will even target console player like you.

Want to impact Fdev ? Target them. Review bombing, boycott of their product, bad press, whatever. I'm not saying it will be something right to do, but at least you'll fight the people responsible for the situation.
Your thinking seems a bit skewed, you on payroll or something?
Dude I'm going to keep that one. For all the time I was accused to be a DOOM troll, that's going to make some people laugh.

I'm honestly surprised something like this hasn't happened before. May as well be for a decent cause instead of what it could have been.

Unless Frontier happen to be remarkably spiteful, or they really do only have the single developer left who can't handle both FCs and transfers, go for it. Worth a try.

People tried to block permit systems in the past. Some even succeeded.
Then FD counter that move, in a rather amusing way

I still expect to see some carriers moved somewhere in the Acheron Sector (what an appropriate name/placing) if this endeavor gains enough traction to endanger the next Public Holiday up there at Rackham's Peak

😂

protest (noun) - "the expression of strong dislike of or opposition to something" (Oxford Dictionary)

So far, they've said and done nothing about account transfers to oppose or protest. At this point, you're protesting a possible outcome based on an assumption.
It's certainly pointless to protest once a decision has been made. Wait until it's too late and then spring into action :)

What I don't understand is those who protest against those who have a legitimate beef with Frontier.

Having a legitimate beef with Frontier is perfectly... legitimate. Even when their beef is not actually legitimate.
What is not legitimate is their beef with Fortier affecting other people not involved in the said beef.
There's plenty of other systems and plenty of other ways to make credits.

After all, surely it only affects those with carriers who must be rolling in it already?

Lightly inconveniencing those who have more credits than they know what to do with already as opposed to completely stunting the game for a sizeable group of paying customers. I feel a little inconvenience is justified.
