ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carrier Update - Game Maintenance

The people that make & sell the cosmetics & send out the emails are not the same people that develop the game or maintain the servers. A problem with one one does not delay the other.

i know and think we all know or the majority,and someone should still create code for new paint jobs and shipping kits.
It just seems a bit out of place for me to post that news when your community is asking you "please" to fix some important parts of the update.
Do you want me to buy cosmetics while your game is full of mistakes right now ? that´s sending me a signal,call me crazy.

Have you noticed that before September they never launched new cosmetics? or was it extremely rare?

I might be wrong but quite honestly I don't remember many, if any weeks, some kind of new paint job wasn't released ever since the game was. They might have had a month off before setting up the Arx system I suppose but I honestly don't remember it.

As for bugs I don't think you can always judge. What seems big as a player might be lower down the priority list for devs because they could be about to introduce new locations that, for example will have missions diverted to them. Fixing the mission list therefore might seem very pressing if you're in the starport but if as a dev you know that fix is only going to be temporary anyway, is it a good use of time? Probably not, so they generally prioritise game breakers as far as I can tell.

For the rest, most Zen thing you can do is call it the ghost in the machine. Mission target didn't show up? It was an unreliable tip off in the first place, game-verse people telling lies, it happens. Seen this way the odd bug (and I don't encounter too many, very nasty ones myself) can actually add some flavour .. How predictably the money flows in, if the pirate is always always always at the predicted location? THAT'S a bit uncanny if you ask me.
 
I am sure that you are right but that September must be around 2017 at the latest, the only prolonged absence recently was for the Arx revamp.

I am almost sure that they did not add almost any paint job from October 2018 (when I started) until September last year, if you do not count the festive works and others.
All the same things were in the frontierstore for a year without changes,I remember it well.

I guess they've been planning this avalanche since ,at least, 2018. For that reason they delayed the FC, and by the failure of these, they took advantage to announce Odyssey, and incidentally, to delay it a little more. This is how I see it and everything fits ... I can be wrong once or twice, but not 20 times.

Any videogame company i have seen ,it no take a year to deliver a patch, none. Also with errors and with 6 years live. It's completely ridiculous.
And I also remember quite well, like when I started playing in 2018, the game was much more stable without any stuttering or falling.
How is that possible?

I also remember that since September they had published in the patch notes the fix of the stones that cross asteroids .... and they have published it in 2 or 3 more notes after that .... Holly God, how long without removing the failed voice to launch a prospector?

Itis so difficult to remove an annoying line of dialogue?

I do not know, with the little dedication they have to polish those details and the base of the game, I do not have many illusions with Oddyssey.

Imagine 100 people working on something new and then implementing on a base that they supposedly haven't spent as much time maintaining.
 
Came to system on ship, scanned, ordered carrier to giant with rings. Swapped ships on carrier, sold UC data, now cannot enter SC - "orange sidewinder" infinite
 
It's not fixed, my FC is in a "jump aborted" loop currently, after first try ended like this:

I believe the 'failed prospector limpet' sentence is not a bug, it's not about the one you sent, but about the one you don't control anymore because you launch a new one .. BUT: it is really annoying indeed !!
 
Try to kill ED process + launcher and plot another jump. Maybe it is one server bug.

I restarted everything.
Allegedly this bug is caused by some "leftover" from original 1 hour jump cooldown.
Allegedly when I wait 1 hour before next try, it SHOULD work.

We'll see about that.
 
Nope.
Still 1000/1000.
After remote jump requests failed I have docked and watch the countdown to find out when exactly game decides to abort the jump.
Weekly tick is your only hope, don't count on ED team to help you :rolleyes: .
In issue tracker i saw a similar bug that was supposed to be "fixed" some weeks ago...

Finally.
Failed attempts:
  • auto retry
  • manual jump requests
  • waiting 1 hour with no new jump orders
  • restarting game / PC

So:
  • I started the game in core (non-horizon) mode,
  • made 9 Phantom jumps to my FC & docked
  • yelled at lazy (censored) excuse of my crew, that I will fire their worthless (censored) if they fail again
  • started recording to have a proof for FDev
  • set my jump to another random destination (did not work before)

And my overpriced piece of scrap jumped this time.
