Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

I would like in Odyssey for Frontier to add underground Salt Mines with high security that murderers get sent to as punishment instead of just paying off a fine which is easy to do these days. One would need to mine 1000 t of salt by hand (with a shovel of course) before they are released.

That's straight out of Star Citizen.
 
Or just that whole leftovers team made of those, who weren't qualified to work on Odyssey was on vacations anyway ;)

It's more likely to be people new to the team or more junior coders; bug-fixing is a very common way to introduce/familiarise someone with a code-base.

We'd like to make it clear that any negative impact on locating and mining Tritium is unintentional and the intention is for Tritium to remain as accessible as it was prior to Patch 3.
Early indications are that this has not been achieved and that a significant decrease is still evident in the amount of tritium available in Tri2s and Tri3s as against Patch 3 - albeit better than it was yesterday. For carriers in the black who have been stranded for nearing a month, this looks like another let down. If the intention was to reduce Tritium mining availability, then please say that (as the above quote says completely the opposite). If not, then I'd ask you to urgently look into the issue. I'm sure more data will come from the players doing these surveys later today to confirm.
 
Triple LTD hotspot. 50 limpits used prospecting. 6 LTD roids found (10%, 9%, 18%, 6%, 9*)

No cores, SSDs or surface deposits.

Tritium was there though.

May just be unlucky RNG but that's only an improvement in that I am now finding some LTD roids rather than none.

Think it's time to go to Painite again
 
There are currently 32 carriers round HIP 4351's star and 57 round HIP 4351 10 (including mine, still :) ).

So any limit on the number of carriers round a body is not being applied to carriers already parked.

They were all there before the patch, unless Fdev was going to magically teleport some elsewhere this was expected to stay the same

That's what I thought was most likely too, but I did consider the possibility that they'd teleport excess carriers to a free slot round the nearest star with slots available, and I didn't hear anyone from Frontier say they wouldn't do that.
 
So double VO:
30 mins of flying about (excluding reboot)
2 VO rocks found, 1 alexandrite. That seems a bit better then yday
41 limpet used
29 VO from that (some chunk missed bcs of lag)
28 tritium - 1st rock had 3xssd, 2nd rock had laser trit

with initial x1.25 aliasing after rock crack was lag, then I did reboot, saw same dust distorted and all rocks around, then did x0.5 + x1.0 and game seems ok & playable.

Going to find x1 tritium.

Results from a 2x LTD Hotspot :

100 Benchmark Limpets : ~130t LTDs
Looks like about (very roughly) a 50% nerf compared to original LTD Mining yields (as sampled from the exact same area before the patches).

Notable things :
  • multi-fragment drops (more than 3) exist again, resulting in very good yields from SSDs
  • LTD SSDs are alot more rare, though (no more risk to repeatedly run out of C2 SubSurface Missile Launcher Ammo), tons of glowing rocks with only junk SSDs/SDs to them
  • LTD SDs a tad more frequent but still not widespread (fairly rare)
  • normal LTD Asteroid content fairly rare, leaving Mining Lasers often unemployed (low sample size, though)

Old friends still with us :
  • Collector Limpets still love suicide vs. cracked Core Asteroids (felt even worse than before, lost alot of them despite having Ship stationary)
  • "Set yield too High - poor yields expected" bug still there (Optimal yield line hit with Seismic Charges - upon moment of detonation yield display suddenly jumps into red area with respective Warning)
  • Type-10 still loves killing its own Prospectors in unaccelerated level flight in several speed regimes

That is physics bug. Limpet jumps out of ship with zero speed to ground while it must be zero to ship, i.e. same speed as ship has for ground.

..or, that can be FA-ON applied to limpet :D Somebody try to drop limpets on FA-OFF mode while boosting for example.
