Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch Notes

Sorry I've been busy but I had to satisfy my brain, I knew it was somewhere.

You have been able to block people without them being on your friends list, or pending friends, for 18 months. This also works for anyone in your History tab. I have no idea why it is in these patch notes.

Perhaps the option was a placebo & now it's real ;) Or perhaps the option has been added to the searchable 'social' screen on the escape menu?

i thought you can only sell wares you bought in bundels? Not wares from mining or mission rewards? Or not even sell the wares you manually transfer to the carrier. Didn´t play the Beta so excuse me if im wrong?
Market list contains all commodities. But some was restricted to even put in cargo.
Added salvaged commodities to list of items that can be transferred to a Fleet Carrier via the Cargo Transfer Panel.
For example those are you collect using "research limpet" or guardian relicts. Now you can store in on FC, so it is possible u can sell too.

I reckon the (subtle) difference is that in order to block someone before, you'd have to have met them in game (or at least through system chat) to make blocking them available. I assume now you can search Cmdrs in the social menu (as you describe) and block them there.

  • When decommissioning a carrier you will receive a full refund.
  • Voluntary decommissioning will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the Debt Threshold

I dont understand.

I read that as - if you voluntarily request a decommission, you get a full refund of all carrier costs (5Bil) and utility purchase costs (for UC, Shipyard, etc) minus half of any debt you owe.
If the decommision is forced on you becuase you have met the decommision threshold, then you don't get the 50% discount on the incurred debt.

I've never tried to block another player but I assumed it was already possible, as Ozric's post seems to confirm.

Actually, the debt threshold is about 150 million. Once you hit it (as in don't have the funds in the FC to pay it off) you have 10 weeks before the ship gets decomissioned (and in that time the ship can't be moved, though you can still use the services). You will get the 5 bil for the ship the debt of 150 million. If you choose to decomission it yourself it will take 50% of the debt threshold (or about 75 million) as a fee. A drop in the bucket of that 5 bil, though, so no big deal.

The debt threshold is a fixed amount. so when you decommission your FC you get the full 5bil back minus 1/2 the debt threshold.

250 Million is the number i remember so 1/2 that 125mill so you will get back 4,875,000,000 on just the carrier when you manually decommission it.

with players? or npcs?

The networking load for NPCs launching NPC crew has been reduced 8according to patch notes) whereas the network related lag bug from players launching NPC crew has not been mentioned and thus, it can be assumed that the issues has not been adressed.

I did (unfortunately), you can do it by selecting messages in chat, or in your history tab (that requires you having shared an instance with them before).

I don't think what I describe above was possible before, i.e. I go into the social menu, search for a CMDR, and I think I was only able to friend them. I'm not 100% sure though as I count the people I friended that way on one hand.

thanks - your logic makes more sense. Hopefullly I will never need to find out

So if I buy a carrier, and then immediately sell it, I get back the 5 billion? Cool that I don't lose anything for driving it off the lot.

So this is a thing now:
The Beluga Liner and Cobra Mk IV can no longer be selected in the Livery unless the player has the Horizons DLC.

Does that mean that if you buy one of these ships, and want to customize it with cosmetics.... you must also 'pay' for the DLC???.

What a crappy tactic to force some stragglers to buy your DLC if they don't already have it.
There’s no possible way to buy those ships unless you have the DLC; they are an exclusive part of Horizons.

What this patch does is prevent non-Horizons owners from accidentally buying paintjobs for ships they can’t possibly own.

So it’s almost the exact opposite of what you said.

Also looks like a ninja removal of overlapping ring hotspots has been done. Mining is back to being a thankless, rewardless time sink.

Unable to purchase a carrier. Seems kind of basic to the fleet carrier patch, wouldn't you say?

This is on PC, and I have tested all modes, not changing the name, etc.
