I've put together a tutorial (of sorts) that talks about how I learned to fly with a controller, some basic flying techniques with flight assist off, and some PVE combat with an input overlay, so you can see what I'm doing in real-time.

Nice!

As a fellow controller user, I'd also recommend using the REWASD app for stick curves, setting custom shift modifiers and pip macros.

Flight Peddles also make throttle control easier as using the top buttons can be a bit clumsy I found. This frees up the LB & RB for lateral thrusters.

Instead of rudder pedals, I use foot switches.
3 switches on the same board, on/off with nothing in between.
Left one is FA off (hold), middle is thruster down, right is thruster up.
Very very handy during dogfight.

I'm struggling with lateral thrusters though...even on my Flydigi Vader pro 4 gamepad (it has lots of extra buttons compared to regular controller): not enough fingers!
