Floor-to-ceiling mounts

Good Day,

My Vive is on the way, but I just hit a snag. To mount the base station behind me involves drilling a hole in the wall and that is not allowed by my landlord.

Does anyone know of a free-standing floor-to-ceiling mount that can accommodate a base station. There are lots out there, but all the ones I've found are for TV's and have TV mounts which are huge.

I just need it for the base station so even a single pole style would do.

Edit: The measurement from floor-to-ceiling is is 102 1/2" or eight foot 6 1/2"

I have a tripod, but two problems. It needs to go behind the couch and the base unit has to be over my head to work when standing. I'm 6' 2". The tripod does not go high enough.

I didn't want to drill and keep my setup flexible (good thing too since I initially placed them too far apart) so I bought lighting tripods at a camera store. Lighting tripods can typically extend over 2 meters.
The lighting tripods are relatively cheap, you can get a good professional tripod for about 30 euro. Unfortunately you also need a head mount so you can tilt the sensor and the cheapest I could get was over 40 euros (it has a quick release mechanism with lock which I don't need but it was the simplest they sold) The feet of the tripods also take up some space. So all together it cost me over 140 euros, not cheap but neither is the Vive so whatever...

I use telescopic shower rails mounted vertically (2.60M). You can buy bike frame camera clamps but I just cut up an old rubber mouse mat and tie wrapped the mounting kit that came with the Vive. Its cheap moveable and the wires are tie wrapped behind the poles and the mount is hidden behind the box. Some use builders 3 hands but they are heavy and look like scaffolding poles in you room!
<Edit>Mine cost 25 quid and got a huge box of different tie wraps into the bargain.

Thanks jankster, but as I said it has to go behind my couch and there is no room for a tripod of any sort. We're talking 3" of space at most.

Sorry I can not tell from your profile where you are, but in UK we have "No more nails" this might work.

I live in Bermuda. We use the 3M mounts that use the east clean up putty stuff that hangs pictures and the like on the wall, but the base stations have moving parts and need to be securely mounted. That's why I thought a pole would work. Will look into the shower rails. Just need to find a way to mount the base station. Might have to drill the pole itself.

Thought of that, but the base stations have moving parts which will vibrate over time and eventually cause it to fall.

I'm going to investigate the shower rod solution. Just need to get to a decent sized store to see if I can find something the wife won't object too.
