If there is one area that needs the most improvement in JWE2, it is that of the lagoon and the marine species in the game.
The species in the game currently feel like animatronics. They eat, and with sometimes fight with the limits that there are to coexistence.
If you look at animal behavior, communities of different species most times do coexist. Also, when having just one species or group, there should be social interactions. Maybe some of the animals swim together, like a school of fish. Maybe they nip and tug eachother.
Some behavior animations that could bring the models more to life.
Jumping Ichthyosaurs coming out of the water.
Having the tuna form schools of fish inside the lagoons.
Marine reptiles forming schools in the lagoon.
Every so often a jumping animation, or a tail fin coming out of the water.
Social interactions with pairs.
As for the lagoon itself, it needs an attraction. The viewing domes provide the perfect opportunity to become that needed attraction in a future update.
Terrain tools for lagoons.
Something that might be able to distinguish lagoons, what if we had the choice to pick a variant of blue or aqua green to make the lagoons not look so alike.
And water plants to add to the terrain tools. Something that could be done, using some of the terrain tool existing plants to use them in the lagoon.
And new type feeders for the lagoons to make the lagoons feel more real and bio diverse.
Squid
Deep sea Mollusks
Jelly Fish
Using live feeders for the sharks with swimming shark animations.
And the introduction of more aquatic species that would add to the lagoons uniqueness.
Leedsichthys
Dunkleosteus
Shastasaurus
