Why are people so sore though? The game is a mess held together with tape, letting FD know thats not acceptable is a good thing, is it not?
If they engaged with the community they wouldn't have got into the situation to give a reply 2 months after the fiasco of the Arx patch.I disagree. To me it is entirely reasonable for them to take their time when deciding what changes need to be made to the way the game is developed and tested. In that context the end of November is very reasonable in my opinion. To me this shows how seriously they are taking this. Let’s give them the time and space now to get this right.
You can be certain that Frontier got the message. This update was a huge catastrophe for them. It’s on them now to go and lick their wounds, fix what is broken, and get it right in December.
I'm vaguely optimistic about all this. If this helps to end the them vs us, us vs them spiral and ultimately helps to make ED great and better than gain, I'll be happy. I love this game after all, I'm just so very sad about a lot of the greatness that is outlined in the game, but never got realized.
See, you will always have those in a community, and there's no control to reign them in, so the gordian knot has to be cut by FDEV, while ignoring the ones that will be vitrioloic no matter what as best as possible. Got to grow thick fur when dealing with an internet mob.I'm not that optimistic. Feels like the "us vs. them" mentality within the community has never been this bad (maybe for a while with the immersion meltdown). It's currently almost impossible to have a serious, respectful discussion about any game related topic on this forum without some people jumping in with their condescending remarks.
But maybe at least their would be less dev abuse. So we have that going for us, which is nice.
