fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me

Probably because these are all ship specific and the focus of Odyssey 1.0 is the FPS, avatar and footfall environments. It's a bit boring maybe but pretty obvious the technical reasons why 38 ships models, that would ALL need opening up to do even a rough ladder, are not the highest priority to FPS 1.0.

Personally I kind of hope that even if you can use a ladder in future (which honestly I do expect and hope same as everyone) it'll still be possible to shortcut to and from the cockpit, if you don't feel the need to check if your bunk is still there, for the 373rd time.
I’d be happy if the blue tube was at least positioned in the correct place - a bonus if the ladder model was at least a bit deployed to suggest our avatars were about to use it.

From what I’ve seen so far, it’d be like driving the SRV up next to our ships and just having a fade-to-black back into the cockpit. I like the intermediary animations - they’re the fluff before the action, so to speak 😁

The video featuring apex travel shows the blue circle at the base of the stairs leading up into the adder.

In most other games I've played, each DLC, that you have to pay for, is self contained and doesn't rely on other DLC's to work. That means you buy only the content you want

And mostly the DLC creates and occupies its own 'space' or area in the game thats not actually in the game, like CQC. ED DLCs are part of the game....and Horizons was given away as part of the base game eventually, to prepare for Odyssey. Strangely havent seen many players complaining they got it free and now have to grind for Engineers.
Imperials won't climb stairs - they'll have escalators

More likely they'll have those Sedan Chairs carried by slaves. Why would an Imperial want to touch the dirty ground after all, they are better than that :)

I’ve just watched that, cheers for reminding me 👍

Isn’t there also a rear door between the engines, like on the Cobra?

They could’ve shaved seconds off their boarding time if the ladder was down 😁

Every time FDev teases us with "extra" footage from some third party game magazine or a channel , where they will feature ED, it always turns out to be a huge g waste of time. I won't fall for this trap anymore.
Funny because I remember the dungstorms several years ago when the meat of any reveal was exclusive to a magazine or a gaming website and not us directly here. Now that's the other way around there is complain yet.

Everybody that is mad about using teleportation to get back into your ship should just get one of these and call it a day.

PS
Teleportation saves game time.

Super disrespectful to my time. I had to suffer thru trashy boring games just to watch a 1 min short clip of someone talking to an NPC and then walking to a hanger. I feel like GameRadar knew that 90% of the viewers were looking forward to just watching the ED clip, and will probably leave right after it ends, so they purposely put it at the end, making us watch all that repulsive garbage for almost an hour.

now, regarding today's clip of "starport walkthrough" , I don't want to judge too early but I was SUPER disappointed at the end where the CMDR just teleported to the ship. Again, I don't want to judge too early but it does feel like classic Frontier where corners are cut left and right. I just find it odd that FDev couldn't create a simple animation of the avatar walking up/down a ladder or something, but to give us the ugly boring teleport UI fade screen is disappointing to say the least. I have a very little faith in this "Neil Armstrong moment" they talked about. RIP immersion.

First he wants a ladder,...

Go back to Star Citizen, there is plenty of your "Immersion". And don't forget the refund. I don't want to see you In-Game

Aw, the nerd rage is strong with this one. Honestly don't know how you got to that ED clip, but the fact you had to stay and endure "trashy boring games" to watch an ED clip, is pretty humorous. Just mute them or do something else, if you don't want to watch it.

Being disappointed in the fade to black is a legit concern that some people in the community have, sure. See obsidianant and a variety of other people upset about the same thing. Comparatively speaking, this is small fry, but if you want to be upset about it, go ahead.

Finally, if you have little faith in the product, you don't need to get it! Simple.

And how many times until you just get super tired of that animation of boarding your ship? 100? 200?
About the same amount of time before you get bored of a fade to black while the transition loads. It's the only reason we have an animation for launching the SRV, it has to give time for the instance to load.

I dunno about getting super tired of it (thats going to happen though) for me personally when i'm legging it from a settlement i just angered i want to get in my ship and go! who wants to be climbing ladders stairs and ramps when you have the combined security forces and bounty hunters of the settlement trying to disengage your non frame shift drives lol

The downside is that the next DLC after Odyssey is going to require Odyssey, just as Odyssey rquires Horizons. That means, even if you don't want Odyssey's content, you'll still have to buy it if you want what comes after it. Sadly, that means FD can make a DLC that is a total piece of garbage, but you'd still have to buy it once the next one comes out.

except FD made Horizon free before Odyssey release.
Try it hard next time.
uh, forgot, even the entire game!!!
