For players who want to git gud !

As a late comer I am trying to understand the thread here - post-moderation and deletion.

So the OP (or group of his PvP friends) offer to help whoever wants to play in Open and participate in PvP (which is fine) but then posts a video (since removed) of a Mobius "invasion" where ships parked on a planets surface are being blown up while their pilots are in SRV's? And then the maker of the video flees when confronted by another ship?

That pretty much sums it up. Although I'm not sure why the videos were removed as "name and shame" since they are clearly their own advert videos.....

Might want to read the rest of the thread. Can't reiterate because of naming and shaming, but there's still enough left to make the necessary inferences about the other way the group is advertised.

I started with the first pages, gave up when it started about the perpetual PVE/PVP wars.
It's becoming ridiculous, i'm mostly a PVE player but i do like the idea of PVP. However, griefing is a sub category of PVP (probably a minor fraction of PVPers)

I don't know everyone, thus, they could be some griefers behind this good initiative that i don't know.
As i understand it, they want pilots to train their skills with them, can't blame them for that !

I've done the PVP event last saturday (Small ship fight night), it was fun, i shot others CMDR, i got excited, i got killed (all this was consensual)
I will do this again, 100% sure.

As for the topic, i think we should incite these type of event/ideas/propositions from whoever it comes from, this is better than randomly shooting CMDR

(Killing unmanned explorers at the ruin site is one of the most stupidest things you can do, entering mobius to kill CMDR too)

the video is an important part of this thread. I have to respectfully disagree on the name shame application on this one. It's more of a psa. Can always find it on youtube tho.

Agreed, still, it is what it is, so if the mods are going to enforce in this instance, so be it.

But the schools actions speak for themselves, and speak to the "quality" of teaching you're likely to get from them.

Lesson 1: How to shoot stationary, unmanned targets.

Lesson 2: How to join Mobius PVE PG to grief non-PVP'ers

Lesson 3: How to post just how bad you are and how quickly you will run from a PVE'er who shoots back to Youtube.

Quality.

Awesome!!

Nope pvp aint bad.

Griefers are generally undesirable

Mode invasion is just wrong.

Ronin, I initially was pretty interested in sharpening my skills and did appreciate the spirit of your op.

Still, u must admit, that video (yes i know u didnt post it) does show mobius invasion/griefing. Character of the "instructors" kinda matters. Maybe if this group denounced this behavior, the promotion could be repaired.

Also, if u think the soup is too salty, don't add more :)

Look at the comms pannel. The person ganking sends transmissions in open advertising their "school" while showing all they can do is seal clubbing in PVE.

Oh, they also showed their ability to tuck tail and run when confronted by someone who actually is in a ship and fights back (the FDL that starts kicing the filing ships butt. (The filming ship was an Anaconda). Once they have to stop shooting at unmanned ships and SRVs running around on the surface, it shows that maybe the person shooting the video is the one who actually needs to "GIT GUD."

So this is what its like to be in a minority...I was one the very few who left a positive reply...seems to have gotten buried ^

Nice try anyway guys, regardless...although its a shame I left that reply before that video went up...if Id seen that first, my reply would possibly not have been positive. Thats called shooting yerself in the foot ^

I never read anywhere that "PvP is bad" on these forums.
People despise and hate griefer/ganker.

Please learn the difference

Fortunately i am the one of not so many here, who do not need to learn that difference.

Many people there is calling other people griefer who are just playing a game.
For example community goals or ruins. You want to haul a fish to win CG, but some other may not want to make this CG complete. Then they are trying to stop You and then You are calling them a griefers.
Some other want to prevent a war between humans and aliens, and preventing tresspassing on a graves of ancient civilisation, but again, crymunity is calling them a griefers.
People are playing a game as they like in a proper way. I will tell more - they are roleplaying, bringing some story and content, instead of crymunity who want iWin button and giving nothing to the Ed universe.
You may not like it, but its a part of the game. It is also not means its wrong. Its only mean you not like it.

Both success and failure are a part of gameplay. If someone is refusing a failure, then he also refusing a success, because a success is folowed by a path of failures.
Unfortunately a "modern educayshun" is not teaching people how to deal with a failure. Society accustomed only to winwinwin and success, and in a case of even smallest failure, even in a computer game, a people can't deal with that feeling and instead of saying 'ok, lets try again, i will try to learn', is kicking the table, pawns and chessboard, and rage quiting to safe environment with panic fear, or ... painting streets with crayons.

You're missing a key detail, they specifically joined a PVE private group to do this, it wasn't in Open play.

That's griefing, full stop.

Nope.
Again, if you disagree with something or not like something, it not means someone other is missing something. It means you have different opinion and not like something.
Deal with it, and move on.

I take back the nice things I said after reading this...and thats all Im gonna say about that ^

I normally give you the benefit of the doubt as you do agree a good point most of the time but

... A griefer is a player in a multiplayer video game who deliberately irritates and angers other players within the game, often using aspects of the game in unintended ways. A griefer derives pleasure primarily or exclusively from the act of annoying other users, and as such is a particular nuisance in online gaming communities, since griefers often cannot be deterred by penalties related to in-game goals.

What they did was what they did. Anyways good luck with the school I think after this train wreak you might need it.
