For the love of all things Holy, yet doomed to be forgotten.

Please add a WARNING if I have a limpet controller fitted and a cargo hold devoid of limpets.
Just like when you have an SLF but have no crew selected. Or when switching around your
guns to remember and fix your fire groups. I have a mining hardpoint but no refinery? Hmm,
please fill me in on this fact. I have dashes in my plotted route you say? Maybe a fuel scoop
would come in handy.

It's the little things FDev.
Thx X.
People may be saying what they like - warnings like the ones suggested would save me several futile travels in a game that is 99% travel even if you DO happen to do everything right, so I support the suggestion.

In a recent mining trip in my 'mining' Python I arrived at my destination short of the following : Mining Laser, PWA, Seismic Charge Launcher, Refinery, Limpet controllers and limpets.
I did have a lot of guns...

I'd also forgotten that the last 'job' done in the Python was a particularly lucrative delivery mission to an outpost...

When I decided to get a Guardian FSD booster the first time I went out I couldn't find a good close spot to land, so I flew to the nearest ship yard purchased a Cobra and went back. It wasn't until I landed and pressed 3 that I realised I had forgotten to equip an SRV, talk about laugh!

Here an easy fix for you. make Designer ships. One called a Miner which has the Refinery and Mining lasers and all you have to do is add Limpets. So you only have to think about one thing filling Limpets.
Now your Combat ship with SLF. If it just set up for combat. All you have to remember is the Crew. Problem solved.

All my ships are designer ships ;)(y)
I even built an 810m/s IEagle just to collect
wakes outside Jameson. (and to annoy people) :sneaky:

It's actually a sort of "realism" that you don't get due to the lack of walking around. IRL there are always people or things to remind you "Oh yeah, I don't have limpets" such as walking up the stairs and looking at an empty cargo bay, or some dude on the port saying "Hey, are you going to take off like that?" So no, I don't track the logic that Elite is realistic by not holding your hand. (I also HIGHLY debate it being realistic at all, since I'm actually a pilot who does this job basically for real). It's a GAME, and I hadn't played in a year so coming back to find things like mission objectives highlighted in blue, commodities required for a mission highlighted with a mission symbol and a "you need x of this" as a reminder when buying... that's all FUN because it keeps me from looking at paper notes. Remember this game 6 years ago? I still have an old notebook with prices scribbled on it. That was a brutal time.

Use EDDI. It will tell you that you have no limpets if you have a controller mounted. Not the other stuff though..

Thx. I've been contemplating using EDDI, just never knew what for. Which is better? Standalone or VoiceAttack one? I use Voice Attack but only to switch PIPS around.
I already also use EDMC and EDDiscovery and EDEngineer and EDR and INARA and EDSM and EDDB and Coriolis aaaand pretty much all the others. I can't imagine how
one more ED-XXX could possibly help me out. Other than having one more doohickey to manage instead of playing the game. I think I'll just continue OCD-ing before heading out.
Getting too complicated as it is already.

EDDI co-dev here. There are no seperate builds: it is only installed once and then will run as a VA plugin if you are running VA, whereas if not running VA you can launch the same program standalone.

The main USP over the others is customisable, scriptable audio feedback in real time, e.g. if you forget your limpets.

It also gives a lot of real-time narration as you fight, trade or explore that the others don't.

EDDI is like having a co-pilot. It tells you stuff about your travels and gives a whole other level of information. It is customisable, but is very well set up in defaults, so like me you can just install and forget. If I fire up Elite without EDDI it feels lonely. Its brilliant, and I've not even scratched the surface.

Thx VB.
Sounds interesting. I'll take look at a few YT videos of it in action.
