For the want of polonium...

I may have finally, after 8.75Mm, gotten my SRV into a hole it can't get out of.

0.19g icy planet, lovely needle crystals full of polonium have been 94-97m away for 20 minutes now.

Must... resist... just launching non-Horizons game...

Took another 15 minutes but managed to wriggle my way out. To the right of the SRV looks a lot like it should be easy to drive out that way. It was not, but after a 4000 point turn to get myself pointing just right that was the direction I was finally able to go.

Can you get back to that hole and test my theory? I would like an independent confirmation...

When I got in the same situation couple months ago, I found out, that my SRV is much more capable when climbing the slippery slopes in reverse... Sure, it is much more difficult to see wherre you are going, but I was able to climb roughly 2-3x higher, than going forward...

This is the hole I ended up in - it is not exactly a hole, it is more like a semi hole, but in a really steep slippery slope and I just couldnt climb back to my ship...

Those moments when you wonder why your SRV refuses to go in the direction you want, and you finally realise you're on a 60% incline, not the flat ground you thought you could see :)

Always good to hear an escape story (y)

So far I have tested, that the SRV is capable of climbing 70% incline... See below... But of course, provided you are not on an icy body... ;)
