For those who relog to farm HGE's, Fdev killed that too (for now?) it seems

Was filling up on my Improvised Components storage. Found a HGE that lasted 31 minutes, which normally is more than enough to fill up from 0 to 100.

So I emptied it, closed the game, restarted it, logged in, circled back in SC, emptied it again.

However, after that 2nd time, all times I restart the game client, the main screen will first tell me ''edServer: Error 403 from webserver: "Your client is too old. Please upgrade to the latest version of Elite Dangerous" '

After at least 30 seconds (but this can be anything up to 3 minutes), this message dissapears and I can login.

This happens on multiple PC's and laptop, at multiple locations with multiple ISP's.

For those players who don't mind shutting down their brain for half an hour to get the materials they need quickly, I really hope this is a temporary issue.

For those players who hate those players who don't mind shutting down their brain for half an hour and "abuse" a game mechanic and get all toxic about it: No one is obliged to respond in this topic.... :)

EDIT: I see this issue on the interweps as far as 7 years ago. Seems this is just some recurring server hickups on Fdevs end then? Will all be over soon(TM)?

Dont they intend to curb all the reloggings. So everyone needs to do the intended way which takes at least 5 times longer and is not as interesting as doing the loggings.
They also have a focused feedback thread open on ship engineering where exactly this issue fits very well. HGE farming without relogging is atrocious. Remove the relogging ? Ok, but only after improving the intended way to at least bearable levels.

This issue is long-standing, FD FORCES you to collect the lesser grades and trade them up, it's their mode of creating game play which is no surprise.

This is the main reason I haven't bought any new ships for years, to avoid engineering completely, it's not game play anymore, it's make work. Material gathering was tolerable to me as a new player, before the trader was introduced, not now.

Trading up and trading across rates are so abysmally bad, that I refuse to do that. I focus on collecting G5 and trade down. You don't need many G1-G4 mats anyway to skip through the grades to G5, but you need at least 10 of each G5 material for any single mod on average.

I just wish combat logging in Open and the instancing reset to the nearest station when DCing off a friends ship in Odyssey were changed / remove / amended. Engineering is getting a rework so not surprised that people are still going to places like Jameson or Davs hope and using the exploits.
