FOR VR USERS Please decrease supercruise acceleration and deceleration time.

Unfortunately no. You have to set up the windows using the (ugh!) touch controllers. You have to select the window/monitor, position it, pin it to that position, etc. No way to do it with the keyboard, VoiceAttack, or any macro utility, as far as I can tell.
Nothing stops you from setting up the window first. I dont know about the Oculus software, but I would assume most overlay softwares have commands for showing/hiding the overlays. I do this with an OVRdrop and VoiceAttack combo and it works great.

I have been getting back into ED because of how good VR is for this game. I have over 2000 hours of non-VR gaming in ED.

While supercruise QOL has improved with supercruise assists, VR gaming has made long interplanetary travel longer than 5 minutes too much to bear compared to just using a monitor. Anyone using VR headsets will know how it can get uncomfortable for long stints and when doing a long supercruise travel, this can be a larger negative gaming session.

Could it be made that supercruise acceleration and deceleration time be decreased for VR users to mitigate the discomfort of wearing a headset.

It's not as bad with dual monitors as the player can browse the internet while cruising, but it is different experience for VR users.

I would like to see some QOL improvements for VR users as this game is amazing in VR and going back to flat screen is now a horrible thought. I actually thought ED graphics were looking old and outdated until I experienced it in VR using the Oculus Quest. The interiors look amazing.

The immersion is next level in VR and if the sounds are set right where ship sounds are muffled or a lot softer than the COVAS then it even sounds like you are inside the ship adding to the immersion.
I will only play this game in VR and have played it using Rift DK2, CV1, quest 2 and G2 for over 2500hrs.

Personally I think ED is perfectly playable in VR as is. I could cope with it being tweaked however you have zero chance getting balance altered either just for VR users or because of VR users. We are too small in number and also it would not work VR users having different stats.to monitor gamers in a MP always online game. It would give us too much of an advantage.

I've been using VR since the rift went commercial, or perhaps a little after that any SC times don't bother me. We're all different I guess but i quite enjoy settling in for a long cruise, especially now flight assist exists!

It also help that my ED [VR] setup is actually in front of a 45" TV, so if it all gets too boring I just watch the telly!

On the subject of headset comfort - your rig may be too tight.

I say this because for quite a long time I suffered from discomfort setting in until I loosened it off quite a bit. The fact is my head and possibly everyone's head expands a little after a while wearing the headset, so what may have seemed a nice fit at the start of the session can get a bit tight without you really noticing.

I have an oversize head and glasses, I have to put the glasses in the headset and then onto my head. I am conscious in VR on long supercruise (say on a mission to a remote station from the main star) of the headset. Interestingly when exploring I don't notice it or during short hop missions. I think its because in Supercruise not much happens other than at the start or end of the supercruise. I understand that the longer times in SC help to increase the feeling of the size of the galaxy. This is where the game needs something like a galactic radio show playing music, with the news on the hour, clipped in with stories about the galaxy. eg On this day in 3304. Ship adverts detailing the spec of the ships, if the dimensions are included it would help bring home the size of the ships.

I feel your pain to a point. I have a big head and need eye correction.
For VR I use contact lenses as my glasses won't fit. Out of the DK2, CV1, quest 2 and reverb G2 I can honestly say the reverb G2, after you take out the supplied faceplate and put in an odyssey+ VR cover the fit and comfort is sublime.

I'm using VR since 2016, started with Elite on DK2, then moved to HTC Vive without deluxe audio strap (the definition of uncomfortable headset) and then to Valve Index and I have no idea what's OP talking about.

Is longer supercruise boring? Yes. Do I want it shortened? No. Do I think something to do in game while at it would be nice (khem ship interiors khem)? A thousand times yes. Neither of that reasons is enough to warrant a core game change for a subset of users which would btw. constitute a pay to win advantage.

With nowadays supercruise assist you can just put your headset away tbh. It's not like something will happen on the way to Hutton orbital...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a Rift currently. Contact lenses are probably beyond me, I have issues with my hands which makes ED great because the HOTAS takes out most of the issues with being Button Masher Joe on a console controller because there is limited fine motor skills.

That sucks. Have you tried buying the prescription lenses? They are not cheap mind you so only do it if you have a headset you are planning on keeping for a bit. If not may be better replacing that and then getting the lenses. Not cheap to do that but VR is an experience that no screen can replicate imo

I had this exact issue. I could either use contact lenses (which wasn't an ideal solution for me), or wore a specially purchase "small" pair of glasses, that JUST fit under my HMD, but were uncomfortable after a while. About a year ago, I bought a set of corrective lenses and I've never looked back. Worth looking into, though not certain they're available for the G2?

I got mine from here - https://vr-lens-lab.com/

EDIT: ninja'd!

I have a pair of old intermediate lenses that have a slightly smaller frame that the optician suggested for work (they were useless - LOL) that just about fit which I use rather than my regular varifocals. I just remember not to do long supercruise missions unless the payout warrants it. To be honest I really don't have huge amount of time to play, so its not a huge deal. I responded to the thread because I think the OP has a point about the issue, although not its resolution.

Simple solution to the OP's issue is to not do long supercruise journeys. While I would have no objection to second jump points at other stars or similar, I think the mechanics of supercruise are fine. The game shouldn't be changed for VR users that can't handle VR - that's just unfortunate for that user.

I am not saying they should do it but I am surprised FD didn't have an engineering option for the FSD in Super cruise.
