Forgive me Sally / CM for I have relogged.

'tis been 12 hours since my last relog...
This is a follow up thread from here.
Pinging @sallymorganmoore.
  • I've gone to a Military system (BGS in my favour?)
  • I've used all available play time over 2 days to relog at a threat 2/3 IM POI
  • Data from my journal:
    • 81 shutdown events (so relogged 81 times)
    • 6 settlement defence plans have been added to my backpack
    • 115 data items have been added to my backpack altogether. (I download everything)
  • Given that data the drop rate is 13.5 data ports checked for 1 SDP, or 202.5 Data ports to unlock the SDP engineer.
  • Given that I can "Raid" 2 bases per evening (there is a certain amount of travel / fluffy time)
    • It will take me 101 days of playing EDO to unlock the engineer (and any other engs that come after). That's not playing any other games, and only attempting to do this one task.
    • If I only tried to do this 1/3 of my playtime, then it would take me about a year.
So I reckon the requirements / spawn rate needs to change.
There just isn't a way that I can see that I can unlock the eng organically.

I'm going to assume that things will be changed, so I'll stop relogging :)

Now....that is what I call....some juicy data. Not mad. Just impressed (thanks! Noted!).

My 2 cents:

I‘ve been playing EDO “organically” as one might say and I have been playing since release (with a few breaks).
I don’t relog, I do missions and usually I end up emptying the whole settlement of everything. Other times I just jump around scanning planets for irregular markers and crash sites.

Till this day I have exactly 2 SDP and exactly 0 Smear Campaigns.
I collected a total of 12 opinion polls.

Apparently I don’t know how to play the game :/ Luckily, we have all the helpful tutorials and information on how to get mats/data in game, right?

This RNG system in general is bad because you can have the perfect combination of locker/data port type+room type+building type+settlement type+system type+system state+faction state (did I forget anything?) and still leave with nothing because RNG.

I have given up on unlocking Yarden and Wellington.

Same. I don't see how others could tolerate doing what needs done to get that stuff but I just largely give up. It's freaking boring to be forced at it like this and I want to enjoy the on-foot play, not do it till I can't stand it anymore.

On my main account pre-wipe I ended up with G3/G4 suits/weapons, most with some specials added (some came as part of pre-engineered gear at stations, others I had to grind mats for, and yes, it was a pure grind that wasn't fun, including reliance on relogging because progress was so slow).

Post-wipe, I haven't even bothered visiting Domino, and 100% rely on prefab suits and weapons. I can clear an entire base, or CZ, with the G2/G3 stuff I already accumulated. I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything either.
