Formidine Rift... what is it?

I think some of clues may have been revealed, back in 3301 there were some posts about Senator Kahina Tijani Loren. Liquid Catnip and ECCO of the EIC listed them here when they were trying to predict who's going to be in Power Play:

I think there's something hidden in them because
1) Drew Wagar wrote them I believe (correct me if I'm wrong if your still lurking Drew!)
2) they say something oddly specific in each one. For example in the first one she says "I don't want to be late" . Late for what though? A meeting? In that same post she was attacked by unidentified ships, It's never specified if it was the Feds or not...

Can't find the quote right now, but Drew did post at some point not long ago that we didn't have yet all the pieces to solve the puzzle, so what we are doing here at the moment is trying to brute force it with the little info that we do have. We might need some patience yet to finally solve this.



On another thing, I found this posted in a comment in the Kahina blog from Drew, with a direct answer from Drew. Might be relevant to the Seven Veils:

Yeah I have a feeling this is all tied up with the unfolding UA's, barnicles, Assasinations, shady mega rich entities thing. I think Salome and maybe Hassan are out in the rift now. The question is, what will they find and will it be following them home.

All the of Galnet articles about Lady Kahina were written by me. She has been on a series of exploration trips in the last nine months or so, but they may come to an end before long, so keep an eye out for her return. That may provide further insight.

In terms of the Rift itself, do bear in mind that this story was finalised in the gamma phase of the game. As I mentioned before, it does not require Horizons and you do not need to have read my book to take part (Though reading the story may help with the immersion, the clues from the book are all available on-line in these forums now).

From what I can see though, some basic assumptions about the characters involved have been made, which you may wish to reconsider. Remember I am primarily a 'character' writer, I like twists and misdirection.

Why do people keep assuming that the rift is somehow related to all other plots going on in elite? When its been mentioned more than enough times that it doesnt...

Also, thanks Drew for clarification and hints :) And would I be wrong to guess that the biggest clues are actually hidden in the characters? Well GalNet articles too...

P.S. I suggest following Drew on twitter. Hes going on the whole UA/barnacle hunt. And he might found something interesting.

Based on the things like that finding the rift doesnt require Horizons, we cant probably rule out any planet of the list.
So my tin foil theory would be that the "rift" is probably some sort of space anomaly. Maybe something like the warp storm? (Sly Warhammer refrence).
As the old lady said: "some serious      is going on there". Aslo both her and Salome came back from there alive. So I doubt we gonna need weapons in there. By that I assume that what ever is in the rift its not a live. Maybe ruins of alien civilazation?

Hello Drew,

Now that you're back on this thread, I'm going to re-post a question I placed before but that you might have missed or not answered intentionally, but I'll try again anyhow...

Drew, does the home planet from Hassan and Sushil have a name? Can't remember having seen it in the book. And is that planet/system in-game?

This planet was the last stop from Salome and Hassan on their way out, and was supposed to be near the border of human space...

Would love to find and visit it!

Yeah, I only thought it is a potential line of inquiry because Drew hinted it depends who's looking and it's not rank-locked...
