Have been stalking the forum and learnt a great deal about the game mechanics based on many threads but I don't seem to be able to give rep to the contributors. Searched and googled but couldn't find anything. Any tip?

You are right! Right after the post above, the rep button shows up. So it means 3 posts before rep button appears. Cheers
