Fourth Anniversary

How's that the same thing? Dama gazelle (which I love for the record, great choice for the pack) was paid DLC, not a gift. You exchanged money for it.
To most people, every DLC (especially because it’s a miracle we still get them) is a gift. Doesn’t matter if it’s optional or not, they still give us the opportunity to get new animals. Every animal is a present.

I would make the Same which I would make IRLwith a gift I have no use for. Be polite, say thank you (perhaps with a polite explanation that you personally see no use in it and would have prefered something different) and then forget about it.
Thankfully the community responds better to anniversary animals than the some of the DLC choices. Let’s hope this next one doesn’t break that pattern.

Honestly I'd say that's not a good attitude to have towards something you literally pay for. If you pay for something, you have the right to complain. That's how business works.

Yeah but just because somethings free it doesn’t stop people from complaining about it. I don’t complain about the anniversary animals, but if we get something as simple as a Sumatran tiger or American flamingo, there will be some that complain because it’s too simple. Either way there will always be people who complain, whether that it’s not something specific someone wanted, it’s too simple, whatever.

Ecology wise dingoes and coyotes are fairly similar (aside from dingoes having more of an apex predator role) but in regards to being seen as "zoo animals" I think there's a difference. I think most Australians would consider dingoes to be zoo animals, given they're by far the most common canid in zoos here and now found in a large majority of local zoos and wildlife parks. The impression I've gotten is that the coyote is not very common in NA zoos (please correct if wrong), especially compared to other native canids, and it's also far rarer in Europe (4 EAZA holdings for coyote vs 33 for dingo).

(as always it's still perfectly fine for people to wish for the coyote if they want it, just saying the comparison between dingoes and coyotes may not be the most apt)
The only zoo I've seen coyotes was a small zoo in Irapuato, Mexico. So, I've never seen them here.
Also, I didn't know that there were so many dingos in zoos. Interesting

What if we got the banded mongoose for the anniversary? It’s a clone of the meerkat and would be pretty unique. Plus it’s not that requested.
Yes, clones of the meerkat would be great

Too small, plus it would require a lot of work because we don’t have any habitat animal that small.
Some of the larger species are bigger than meerkats, but I think the bigger issue here is that there's nothig for Frontier to make it out of.

The anniversary animal is not going to be some super-unique new species nothing like anything yet in the game. It's always going to be something fairly basic and low-demand like the ruffed lemur and red deer. It won't be marketable in a DLC. For example, it definitely won't be the...
Two-Toed Sloth.
It's an exhibit animal, for one thing, and regardless of what the exhibit animal is they aren't super popular, and Frontier knows this. Secondly, the brown-throated sloth is a DLC animal that didn't come out that long ago, so they won't give away for free one of the big selling points of a DLC (especially a recent one - and again, the red deer is not an exception, whether it was made out of the fallow deer, reindeer, or even another animal, deer are not big sellers). Thirdly, aside from the butterflies that were deliberately made to share space (and thus share the same animation cycles to avoid collisions), each WE animal has a unique exhibit set-up, even between the two fruit bats AFAIK. That's more work than they'll give away for free.

As usual, people are setting their expectations way too high with this.

The Black and rufous elephant shrew can reach a Length of 52,5cm

Think simpler. As you say, the tortoise would be a good option, or another crocodile. Part of me even hopes for something like the tufted capuchin, though I doubt it.

The more close we come to the Birthday the more I hope for the American Black Bear. I am absolutely Team hoping for all the 3 remaining Bear species to come to.the Game. And if it is brought with all its different color variations from nearly White and Grey over Blonde, Brown and reddish Brown to black it would be a really cool addition.
