FPS counter in the middle of the screen??

Use the steam overlay FPS counter. Its small and you can choose where its positioned

Really FDev? This is so damned annoying! Why did you plop the FPS counter in the middle of the screen (off center, of course) and add some useless, bright-white version number in its place?? It makes the game look like a cheese developer build. Please put it back to where it was and lose the version number. I can see that in the main menu all I want and don't give a crap about it while I play. Seriously, I cannot understand what makes developers do stupid like this.

What I find even more important is the ridiculous message it tells me. If the performance wasn't that wee poor, there wasn't even a need for the damn thing.

iirc,
the empty space was to allow space for the revision number during alpha, which pushed the counter further out.

Could be wrong...
