Newcomer / Intro Frame Shift causing overheating

Running a 2A powerplant in a size 3 slot? I don't recommend this. Get the highest powerplant you can afford to reduce heat buildup since the better powerplants are better at disapating heat. Also, NEVER start FSD charge while you are in the star's corona. This applies to all ships, not just the T6.

If the 2A will cover the energy usage it is at least as cool as a 3A, probably cooler. It isnt excess Power that reduces heat, it is the A rating.
 
Didn't bother me when I flew one :)

Mm, depends how densely you chain your jumps, back to back jumping and the usual D-grade ends in being able to make toast in the cockpit. Slackers, obviously, have no such problem *duck*

As others have said.. a 2A and a #a are the same in heat efficiency

with the 2a you are only using 75% power for a standard cargo haul build

2A 75% usage 19.61ly jump cost $160 224
3A 60% usage 19.53ly jump cost $507 912

basicaly your paying 3 times as much to jump less distance, use more fuel ( per weight) and have even more energy that u wont use

You can even shove in 2 A class shield boosters on with the 2A pp, and just tick 100% usage with the cargo hatch disabled.

it could also be argued that the 3a power distro i ran in it wasnt needed,but the ability to pretty much spam boost means theres no point to fighting an interdiction submit/spam boost/jump and rofl

The price difference between 2A and 3A is trivial, equal to the profit for a single round trip. You gotta stop thinking like you're trading a sidewinder. A type 6 MAKES MONEY. And when I flew a type 6, I used that power by boosting away from interdictions and keeping my shields fully charged. I had no problem getting away!

excess power doesnt get used, ever, so its of no benifit to have bigger then needed, u want more power/faster recharge to weps,engine/systems... thats the PD..which imo, should always be A classed

All your doing by putting a bigger PP in it is wasting money and tonnage and range, which gets worse as ur ship gets bigger.
