So i have recently purchased a type 8 hauler, however its original jump distance is terrible. OK, so no problem there, just go visit an engineer. So i did that, got an upgraded level 1 5 drive which boosted my jump range by about 11 LY, however, and i didnt even know this was a thing, It came with an engineered super cruise boost titled level 1 frame shift drive [sco]. Cant tell you how much time this has saved whilst hauling, however my question is this. If i go and get the frame drive to level 2 /3 and so forth will i lose the [sco] ability that i have currently gained? I cant remember what happens since been that long that i spent time on multi engineering a ship.
And i remember one time, i visited an engineer with my asp explorer and it improved some aspects of my ship but reduced my jump range significantly and i couldn't reverse it. Was that bad i had to totally strip out cargo and passenger cabins to get the LY range back to anywhere near where it was and was still 10/12 LY worse off than before. I have had to turn that ship into a long range explorer now rather than a jack of all trades and im sacred the same thing happens again. Cant even remember how that happened with the asp, but remember was royal pain in the neck
