Engineers FRAME SHIFT DRIVE - FASTER BOOT SEQUENCE

I'm confused. I upgraded my FSD to G5 of "FASTER BOOT SEQUENCE", the parameter on my drives says boot time = 2S. However the boot time isn't any quicker. What am I missing?

Well, if I remember well, the mod precedes the FSD reboot missiles. I assume the original idea was for the people that kept FSD off (or at a lower priority?) to save power on a combat build... Even in this case, I really can't see a use case for it, unless you really want to high wake from an attacker that uses Grom's missiles. In which case you may be hit during the spooling phase again... and again.

Power hungry setups that want to keep the FSD disabled when hardpoints are deployed while still being able to retreat quickly.

Hybrid/shieldless setups that can expect the occasional PP malfunction, or that may need to repair a damaged/destroyed FSD (low integrity FSDs are faster to break, but also faster to fix).

In which case you may be hit during the spooling phase again... and again.

FSD disruption has a significant immunity cooldown and none of the delivery methods for the effect are guaranteed to land a hit.

Ok, that makes sense. I won't notice this unless my FSD gets reset.

Yeah, or if your ship is very power-hungry and you have the FSD power down (via priority groups) when you deploy your weapons. In that case you might need it to power back up very quickly.

Though with Engineered powerplants, you're rarely that short of power.

Edit - oops. The post above made the same point almost verbatim. :)

I'm experimenting with both high integrity FSD (475 on my vette) and this mod to deal with the FSD reset tactics. I like to stay and fight for as long as it makes sense, but still want the option to jump when it looks hopeless.
