Yep when they add fuel scooping you can do it from near a star (you may need extra shielding) with a fuel scoop - and also from gas giants (a bit safer). Have a look in the Design Discussion Index (in my sig) for more info on why stuff works the way it does (or will work)
It is a pain in the neck doing this everytime, especially in a lakon. Look away for a second and your already too late.
Maybe have us a little bit further out or allow us to get closer.
Or, which would make more sense. Exit hyperspace in normal speed, not supercruise, then line up and engage SC.
