Everyone get different random animals but they are always base game species and always have good stats.

I know it's random but somehow I tend to get ostriches a lot (they're okay but I don't need as many), and Nile Monitors (which I rarely use) and crocodiles for some reason. I would prefer to get pretty much anything else than reptiles but oh well.

Question: is it possible to score any of the animals added for anniversaries? (Red deer, peccary, b&w lemur)
It's never happened to me.

I have never gotten one of the anniversary animals as a reward. I do wish we would get DLC animals too (since those sometimes can be hardest to find from other users with good stats) but I assume the coding for that would be trickier with people having different DLCs and all...

I definitely got different. Can't remember which but all 3 were regular versions of what they were. So, appears to be random per person.

As a guideline of what animals you could get .. this is what I still have in my reward storage after 5 years. I've taken a few out when I find the trade center out of my price range for one reason or another.

I see, that's interesting! I thought they were considered base game species in general. But now it makes sense.

News on free update 1.18
We also have another limited-time celebration happening in-game with a Community Challenge from 15th-21st October! In this special event, you'll receive a boosted animal that has an 80%+ in any gene, in return for every 5 animals you release (with a 1 in 50 chance of having Piebald or Albino colouring!) Alongside this you will also gain a complete Avatar outfit for every 20 animals released - so you can celebrate in style!

Oh yes, I think maybe they did this last year as well..? Extra reward animals will be awesome. :D I do hope people will still sell some good animals during this time. I'll need replacement for some old breeders I'll be releasing. 😅 It's already pretty difficult to find good animals of some species. ;P

Oh yes I remember now, the boosted and mutated animals as rewards. and the many many avatar outfits that I barely look at rofl

Oh wait that is the Next Challenge they have on the website rofl .

I will be using this as the basis for what is the "best" animals for this challenge. Specifically, there is a column that is number of offspring per year. From there I will give some preference to Polygynous and Promiscuous animals - As they only require one male for multiple females. Lastly, cost of feeding will be a consideration.

Really those animals where population control has been a head ache in the past should thrive here.

Yep, multiple birth, short maturity time are ones I tend to use. I just jump through my zoos and just play .. each one is bound to have at least one species that will help with the challenge rofl

Ready for some animals now - that are mostly sat waiting to go in a different zoo:

Then just to see if the one-way system actually works - if not, the one way sections created by the monorails will be swapped for normal paths :cry:

It's all a bit "all or nothing" though :)
I'm going to have some very unhappy guests vandalising everything in sight, unless they've got animals to view, loos, shops, bins and benches the whole way round

I don't think I have a single zoo that doesn't get vandalism .. just hire more mechanics and security to limit them somewhat.

Well the anniversary challenge has started. But, the Console page hasn't been update to show any challenge. It could be intentional, not being an anniversary for the console exactly, but it might be an oversight. Console players, let us know if you have it showing in game and successfully release animals.

For those new to this special challenge, I just released my first 15 - reached 1% of the challenge ( whether it is still calculating mine or not is hard to say, but it isn't rounding up, so could be the group giving us a total number of 1k ( 1.5% ) to 3k ( 0.5% ) . Here's the rewards I got just for these 15. And that was just clearing out excess in storage. I have about 12 zoos to run through and so who else I can release now and set up the next group rofl )

I've passed 200 released and now I'm wondering if there's an upper limit on reward animals lol, I didn't get any for my most recent batch of a dozen or so.

I'm in the same boat as Moss. Looks like we should have no problem reaching the goal, so I'm wondering if I should keep going or not. Anyone seeing any reward for going over 200?

I remember from last year that after reaching certain number (maybe 200 or 250?) there aren't any more rewards to get.
