Franchise Mode Tips

Hey all,
So having played the game for a week now (not too much only 18 hours!) i seem to have finally started a successful franchise zoo, on my 3rd attempt once i realised that i need to keep everything very basic at first, thus far i have 3 Habitats - Sable Antelopes, Greater Flamingos and Common Warthogs, and 4 Exhibits of snakes and some food and drink. PLENTY donations boxes which im getting loads atm, and on this year just away to pass i should end with 35/40k profit. So happy days i have some money, But here is where i hit a brick wall, What am i still doing wrong?

I currently have 160ish CC, but to even attempt to join in the community event, i would need about 1300CC to get a breed able pair, but probably need quite a bit more. The animals that i am managing to breed can Release for around 5-15 CC, but by the time i would make some credits, the adults are passed breeding and i need to take in more.

I dont know if a big part of this issues is that the market is so laggy and a little buggy - majority of the time if i try filter by cash only sales i need to physically click 1 or 2 species then filter cash, and even then most of the time it says Empty. Only animals ive really seen for cash are the ones that are generally the ones that wont earn much CC from breeding.

So long story short - Now that i have got the cash flow sorted, what are everyones tips for getting the Conservation Credits to Roll in to be able to buy the Larger/Higher Rated Animals? Is it just a case of being patient and very slowly getting there?

PS - Loving the game, i can look passed the little bugs here and there. Keepers are a little annoying and dont always like to clean and feed the animals but hey, no one works properly all the time!

Just keep breeding your animals and and releasing them to the wild or put them on the market I started with Ostriches they breed like crazy I started with 1 male and like 3 females and just kept releasing them. Warthogs are good to your ccs will add up then grap some thing like lions or tigers which sell for quite a lot on the market and dont forget to keep an eye on genetics.

Lemurs are a nice animal to use to get CC. They aren't super expensive for CC (I think you can get them for cash as well, but I could be wrong), they breed fast, and release for a good amount of CC. As a bonus, they are critically endangered so releasing them is real good for your Zoo's conservation rating.

You can put both Red Ruffed and Ringtailed Lemurs in the same habitat as well.

Perfect thanks. Once I’m home tonight I will give ostriches and Lemurs a try to see if I can build up those credits! I noticed before I logged out I did have 4 warthog babies already so once they mature I’ll release them on.

I did the early CC grind...gathering... whatever you call it with warthogs and african dogs.
But Lemurs and Ostriches works fine, too.

It feels like impossible at the start to get CCs, but i am now at ca 30.000 CC without too much grinding from one huge zoo (albeit i have to admit that i have almost 130 hours playtime).

Peafowls do the trick as well.. They breed like crazy and 'between 7-20 CC everytime (depends on quality)

Try to get the cash animals like African Wild Dog. They are available with $ (sometimes with really good stats) and offsprings give decent CC

Crocs are decent as well.. And tortoises sell well too, but it takes a while..

And check the zoopedia: A lot of animals have 1 male/multiple female ratio.. Try to benefit from this.. Get multiple females to breed with that 1 male before he dies.

Try to avoid buying CC animals in the beginning. The first 5k CC took a while but went really fast from 5k to 50k.

Croc babies takes also 14 years to go adult, still a very long time to be helpful.
But then again they are buyable for $$$ and have a good appeal, so they are a good choice for an early zoo anyway.

even if you cant play try and login every day you gain 100c each time you log into franchise mode. I was busy last weekend and couldn't really "play" but logged on when I got up took the 100cc and logged off

Don't make the same mistake I did by thinking having one male and four femal Gharials would be a great idea. In less then a minute I sudenly had 34 baby crocs that took 14 years to become adult and releasable, which cost me over 1.000.000$ just for the food. After I sold all those crocs I now have over 20k CC, but I had to close my zoo because I was like 700.000$ in dept and have to start a new zoo..

That way my first try to mass breed gorillas endet, gladly i tried it on a new zoo and was careful enough with my first noob zoo.
The problem is the complete borked way the food cost is calculated atm.
There are differences of 30-100 % per year without any clue whats causing it.

So yea, always be very careful, try to stay in the + as far as possible.
And know that you can't get rid in any way of baby animals.
You can't release them, you can't sell them, you can only store them in the market which has only 30 slots and is no solution, because they (gladly) don't age there.
Ofc you can store 5 cups, raise 5 cups and then put the others out, but on animals like crocs or tortoises you will block your storage for decades.

So yea, that can fk you up.
I just realize it in my second zoo where i breed gorillas.
It was on the edge due to the animal food cost which varied from 60k to 100k without any sense or reason.
I forgot about the crocs a moment and now i got 10 of them.
That will most likely kill my second zoo.

I think they are great early 'higher appeal' animals.. They breed really well, available for $ and bring in decent CC. If you use contraceptive every 4-5 years, you will get decent CC every 4-5 years and you're not overwhelmed with the offspring.. (yeah the first time is long waiting period). And they have long lifespans...

Maybe Nile monitors are a bit more effective, when you release them in the wild.. Or if the market improves a bit..

You can Always spam the refresh button and look for the frontier zoo animals on the market... They are cheaper and sometimes really good.
Wouldn't waste CC on short lifespan animals, especially when you want more CC..

And there's a way of getting rid of animals, not a big fan of this but: you can starve them or put them in a carnivore exhibit.

Like previous commenters, stay in the +.. And act swiftly when you see you profits are getting worse..

I think the first way would hurt you because of the protesters, but i don't get those so i don't know how bad it is.
Didn't new that the second way works.
But i would rather let a zoo go bankrupt before i am doing that. I don't do this to animals, not even virtual ones.

I would gladly throw some of the human vandals to the lions and crocodiles.
Not only would that spare me the unpredictable, horrendus floating animal food costs, it would also
be a cautionary tale for others to come.

See the camera above you is one thing, but watch the last fker who destroyed that innocent trashcan be ripped apart by
a crocodile jaw is a complete different level of "uuups don't do that".

One slow way of getting CC that I did not see mentioned: Don't forget that if you greet the visiting "player avatars" you get 20 CC and you can do it up to 5 times each day.

My American Prairie exhibit with American Bison and Pronghorn tends to have numerous babies that I can trade or release for CC.

Not about CC, but more on generating money with animals, I found spiders are a great wat to get some extra cash in fast as they breed fast and in high numbers. Also, they live quite long! I use gold pairs to generate as much gold offspring as possible and they can sell for $1000 per spider. Red knees and pink salmon knees I mostly use. These little critters saved me several times!

I didn't try it as well, I rather don't do it..
If you place an exhibit outside the paths in a very distant corner, maybe protestors don't march towards that part ?
But I understand if you do it, spending 100+ hours on a zoo and you make 1 mistake.. You risk losing your zoo if you are unable to fix this in a normal way.

Getting CC is not that difficult, in the beginning it can be tough. Keep an eye on the market for future investments..
With the challenge of Gorillas, they are a lot cheaper than a few days ago.
